    It's a concern for sure. Recession odds seem to be increasing with various economic indicators showing signs of weakness.

      Yeah, and if a recession does hit, it could have a significant impact on everyone's portfolios. the market has been crazy lately, a few surprises here and there.. with all the global happenings taking place I think it’s safe to say that a severe global recession is looming..

    • @roseylumber
      @roseylumber Месяц назад

      Absolutely. During a recession, stock prices tend to drop, which can lead to losses for investors who have a large portion of their portfolio in equities.

      Plus, industries like retail, hospitality, and travel usually suffer the most during economic downturns, which could affect specific stocks and sectors in people's portfolios.

      The problem is that you don't have the knowledge needed to succeed in a challenging market. Only highly qualified professionals who had to experience the 2008 financial crisis could hope to earn a high salary in these challenging conditions.

    My wife and I saw this coming a couple of years ago, with the government checks and with the crazy rise in interest rates. Immediately, we cut any unnecessary spending and started paying down our credit card, adding to our investment accounts and purchasing tangible assets, the yellow metal. So far, so good. We'll be ready when it happens!!!

By certain statistics: 22% of americans have no retirement savings. 64% are worried that they will not have money in latter years while 47% of adults who are not yet retired think they have to work part-time in retirement. 200k, seperately outside retirement access depleted over the years? what can I do?

    Stange? TSMC is the recipient of BILLIONS of US taxpayer dollars but wants to "import" workers from Tiwan because the highly skilled tradespeople that have been working at Intel's facility in Chandler AZ are too hard to work with? If you accept taxpayer money you should be required to employ Americans, non-union or union as there are a great many companies on both sides that do work for Intel., Micron, TI and others. If "American" corporations hadn't outsourced the production elsewhere to take advantage of cheaper labor, we'd still have a thriving chip production industry here. Instead, we give them tax breaks to "re shore" profits and then bribe them to come back. I was part of that workforce for years in the 80's and 90's and watched it die out as plants were built overseas. Plenty of blame on both sides of the political spectrum as corporations have taken control of DC.

    Fannie Mae is loving this home price bubble, I just noticed their stock price is up 3x from 1 year ago. Home insurance companies + local property taxes are up 15-25% for same reason. This is what happens when interest rates stay TOO LOW for TOO LONG, shame on the FED for dropping the rate to near zero (0) for 2 years (Apr 2020 to July 2022), that should have never been allowed to happen.

If the government becomes a lawbreaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy. To declare that in the administration of the criminal law the end justifies the means - to declare that the Government may commit crimes in order to secure the conviction of a private criminal - would bring terrible retributions."--Supreme Court Justice Louis D. As we are already in a recession and near a depression, I would say the odds of a recession are 100%. The only question is when will we see hyperinflation. That is moving upon us very quickly I would almost bet. This will mark the year when most people in the US have no job. Keep what you have. Most have no way to pay for food or housing or anything we consider essential. I am not a doom and gloom person. I am a realist. I look at all that is happening around the USA and the world.
    Our government is a total failure. The current POTUS and Congress are on a massive push to continue spending money we do not have. That leads to worsen the problem. 34.5 trillion dollars in debt. Biden can talk about deficit all day. The debt is a much bigger issue. We can not even make our interest payments. We are attempting to borrow money just to pay part of the interest and none of the principal. Total collapse is one the way. Kicking the can down the road again is not an option. There is no good way out of the mess The US has spent its way into.

    Right now the government gives food subsidies like food stamps to the highest number of Americans in history. That cannot not not will it continue indefinitely so one must learn how to pray, shop, and cook in order to sustain their family in harder times that are on the horizon.
    I read a book that is so different than most because it teaches on real life experience.
    It helps you look at Jesus in every situation, even shopping. It’s “Expect Miracles, By Annie McGuire”

    *She's confused about the private sector! If the private sector was so good, why do they need government dollars?*
    You have to ask yourself why competing with other countries is something we avoid like the plague!
    *It's because there isn't a Western Country that's ever earned a thing through competition... Not One!*
