Raising taxes to corporations, highest income earners, or to the 1% would eventually trickle down to the middle and lower class citizens. Just like increasing minimum wage to $20 per hour, consumers ended up paying more to offset labor cost. Increased in taxation discourages economic investment, innovation, and consumer demands.

Raising taxes while still spending the country into oblivion is a recipe for a epic disaster.
Since Biden took office, there seem to have been more unfavorable results in America. Income taxes at any level is regressive. I'd rather pay higher consumption taxes than been taxed based on how much I make. These "tax the rich" or "pay your fair share" is punishing financial and/or economic success and it also encourages lower productivity and less spending on innovation

Most of the young Americans are struggling. And, middle age Americans have family fixed expenses; mortgage, loans, children's tuition, etc. In addition, salary is not increasing. Retirees have fixed income from SS. All government can do is cut budget, not borrowing money. Not engage wars or supply wars. It is easy to spend more, but it is hard to cut spending. By the way, how does government keep those business staying in the US. Big corporations are not going to stay with a sinking ship.Printing more money doesn't work!
