Thanks Brothers, here are my thoughts on the topic about The Thief on the Cross. It goes right in line with what both of you thought as well. The thief on the cross, in his plea to Jesus, said:
Luke 23:42-King James Version- And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
This statement is profound and reveals several key aspects of faith and salvation.
First, the thief acknowledges Jesus as Lord and recognizes His authority and kingship. Despite Jesus being crucified alongside him, the thief sees beyond the immediate circumstances and believes in Jesus' divine nature and future reign. This is a powerful testament to the thief's faith, as he sees Jesus not just as a man suffering the same fate but as the Messiah who will enter His kingdom.
Second, the thief's request to be remembered is a plea for mercy and inclusion in Jesus' kingdom. He doesn't ask for specific rewards or positions; he simply wants to be remembered by Jesus. This shows a humble recognition of his own unworthiness and a reliance on Jesus' grace and mercy. Jesus' response to the thief is equally significant:
Luke 23:43- King James Version- And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.
This assurance from Jesus highlights several important truths:
Immediate Salvation: Jesus promises the thief that he will be with Him in paradise that very day. This indicates that salvation and entry into eternal life are immediate upon faith in Christ, without any additional works or rituals required:
Ephesians 2:8-9-King James Version- For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Grace and Forgiveness: The thief's past sins and crimes are not a barrier to his salvation. Jesus' response demonstrates that His grace is sufficient to cover all sins, and forgiveness is available to anyone who believes in Him:
    Colossians 2:13-14-King James Version- And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
Eternal Life: Jesus' promise of paradise assures the thief of eternal life with Him. This aligns with the broader New Testament teaching that believers are given eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ: John 10:28-King James Version- And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
John 3:16-King James Version- For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
In summary, the thief's request to be remembered by Jesus is a profound expression of faith, humility, and reliance on Jesus' mercy. Jesus' response affirms the immediacy and completeness of salvation through faith in Him, highlighting the grace and eternal life that He offers to all who believe.
I Praise God for showing us just how very instant our salvation can be. This wonderful example of The Gift of Salvation that was given so freely by Jesus to the Thief on the Cross, Shows not only compassion for the lost of this world, but shows the Heart of God in his Motive to Call ALL Men unto himself. Its on the tip of God's mouth, ready to DECLARE Us in Right Standing with him, the very Moment we first BELIEVE!!
    Yes and Amen!!

Jesus died with the criminals to fulfill:
    Isaiah 53:12
... because he poured out his life unto death,
and was numbered with the transgressors....

Isaiah 53:12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
So the the thief that railed him was also offered Salvation................................... (Jesus made intercession for the transgressors.)
Both thieves were treated the same by Jesus's Mercy before their death..............👍 by by Calvinism !
Both thieves showed Freewill in the direction they wanted to go. One had the love for the truth and the other did not.
      Great verse
      Thank You

Which thief on the cross versions should we believe? Luke's version where the thief is in paradise because he defended Jesus against the insults? Or the versions in Matthew and Mark where they both say that both of the criminals were insulting Jesus?
      Luke 23:40 vs. Matthew 27:44 & Mark 15:32
