hey guys I used to play the BC 150 which I liked very much until I had some gigs with a loud playing disco poppy Top 40 band. I did have a real problem because of the limited power of 150 watt rms. I was forced to use all max power to prevent in drowning in the bandvolume. So I sold the 150 and switched to the BC 300. It is without any doubt a promotion. More solid more professional advantages and of course plenty of headroom. Besides this you have the option to connect a extra cab which is really handy 🙄 Unfortunately I want to sell this combo. I underestimated the weight of the 300 which is 28 KG (sorry folks i live nearby Amsterdam Netherlands). For me with my weak back and knees ol'guy of 55 this BC 300 is too much to me which it is such a pity as I really love the sound of Warwick. Last but not least one should forbidden all those bass reviews where demonstrators are only slapping and popping...i mean in daily life a bass player must do his job namely : LOOOOW TONES AND BASSLINES...where are the old fashion bassplayers....sorry Irvin 🙄
It would be awesome if Warwick would take a flipster pedal in production. As I feel this would complement the current WA and BC amps and deliver all tones current bassplayers might need on their gigs...
Just a doubt guys, is this combo good enough to play live? I mean, I know that I can use the line out to amplify it through the outside speakers, but are the inside speakers louder enough to hear my own bass sound when i´m playing on stage with the band?
Hi I just bought this amp but when I play I hey a lot of buzzing and vibration from the speaker almost sounds like a mild overdrive especially when a note rings out and then some of strange noises happen. What could be the issue here? Thanks.
Bruce Armstrong, There can be many things that can do that. The speaker will vibrate, a little or a lot. Buzzing can be distortion for playing too loud for the speaker. The list is endless. Best is to take the amp to the store he bought it from to see what the issue is. It is always recommended to take it to a specialist to hear it and fix the issue. Best regards, Michael.
If you push the speaker, even with a pencil eraser, it should be silent. There is a part that holds the coil in place, usually called a spider. The spider and the speaker edges keep the speaker aligned. If too much power is fed into it, the plastic tube the coil is wrapped around becomes warped, and the speaker scrapes the magnet. This is a blown speaker. If it is blown, replace it with as similar speaker as you can find so the cabinet will still work well for the speaker. Make sure to use a speaker with the same impedance, also. Most are 8 ohms, but they can come in 4, 16 or even 32 ohms. If you have a solid state amp, it will change your output power and could blow out an output transistor.
Hey Andy/Guys at Warwick. I need some advice please. Im loving the sound of your amps however im not sure which way to go. I want to use one with my Fender Pawn Shop Bass VI. Would BC300 combo or a 4x8 cab with the 300 watt head better suit it? Would 300 watts be enough for small to medium venues using a PA? Im going to be playing alternative rock in a two piece band. Also I dont see your new LWA 500 head on your site yet. When will that be available? Thanks alot.
Bruce Armstrong, The BC300 is suitable for a two piece band. 300 watt head with a 4x8 would be enough as well and could be an investment for future gigs. I would recommend speaking with a local dealer to see if you can rent the combo and amp/cab before a gig to see which one you would prefer. The LWA 500 is expected to be released this year. No exact date has been determined at the moment. Please keep up to date by visiting our website. Best regards, Michael.
Framus & Warwick thanks for the reply. Someone told me that a bass vi will need more clean headroom therefore a higher wattage amp vs a regular bass because of the frequencies of the instrument otherwise it will cause the amp to break up/distort? Thanks.
Bruce Armstrong, We do not have this instrument at our factory to really answer your question. However there is no reason to it breaking or over distorting an amp. If you are still worried a good Compressor eliminate any distortion. Best regards, Michael.
Ok great good to know. Last question. The BC300 is 300 watts of usable power as a stand alone combo? I see some amp makers like to put a big number on their amps and its in fact of half that wattage without having an extension cabinet. Thanks.
Unless your one of these slap and pop bass players your fucked because youll never hear a review that is done by a rock bassist. They dont ever drive them and really dig into them like a rock or metal bass players does. How the hell do I know what the fuck it can do with all that slap happy nonsense.
Also, I got news for you. It is a;ways better to force new cold air into an amp than try to force hot air out. Air forced into the amp will be cooler than air being drug in by an internal fan trying to push hot air out. Your think is all fucked up on that point.
Props to use the Music Man and Fender! Was nice to hear those sounds through this amplifier.
Funny how the logo is right in front of the tweeter. Good bass playin'.
This amp works great with fretless basses - the 10-band EQ allows you a perfedct control to get exactly the sound you want. Hope this helps!

Can you plug and extra speaker into it for extra volume?

No, you don't need an extension cab, you can make full use of the 300 watts right away.
how would this be for fretless?

Framus & Warwick thanks. The buzz/distortion sound happens even at the lowest volume. And when a note rings out it seems to get worse. Thanks.
If you can move the speaker cone at all manually, and it makes a scraping sound, the speaker is blown.

What a strange lil white nerd funk duo you rocked out.
ну.. как то - не очень
