Had a good day fishing this morning, throwing your purple 16th oz mule jig with a four inch morning dawn roboworm, and caught a decent amount of little bass on the ultralight (the biggest one was about a pound and a half but a wonderful bit of fun on the ultralight, no less) 😅

Thanks to your recommendation I just received my Temple Fork 6’ ultralight trout and pan fish rod. I paired it with a Shimano Sahara 500 reel with 8# mono backing, 5# Power Pro braid and 4# Seaguar Blue Label fluorocarbon. I tied on a 1/32 oz Mule jig with a Mule donkey tail jr. I learned two things. That tiny line is very hard for me to tie knots with. I never would have believed any setup could throw those light lures as easily as this setup does. I haven’t fished with it yet but will keep you posted on how the Texas pan fish like your lures.

    • @FishAnything

That’s a nice setup! Yeah the super low diameter line can be challenging to see and manage but it definitely casts a lot farther than high diameter line!

Not only am i catching more fish but they are all bigger (not just ultralight). I think the fish anything ultralight builds confidence and holds over when i begin to upgrade. My family (wife, son) and I have found a passion for wading and fishing small creeks. Your infectious joy and appreciation for the bite have meant alot to me and I am looking forward to placing another order. Now, where to find size 6, 8 ewg hooks? The weeds are wicked!!! Half the time I'll have fish biting at the tippet ring and indicator. So why not use a fishable bait as a strike indicator? lol

Double uni is fast and easy. I recently upgraded to the Alberto knot on my heavy bass set-ups. It is superior, but tougher to learn and probably not needed on an ultralight. It does make a slimmer connection and is worth practicing, imo.
