I found a bunch of micro jigs like this in a Japanese discount store in 1.5g and 2g with a size 6 hook. I've been using them with a bunch of micro plastics and I love them
Had a good day fishing this morning, throwing your purple 16th oz mule jig with a four inch morning dawn roboworm, and caught a decent amount of little bass on the ultralight (the biggest one was about a pound and a half but a wonderful bit of fun on the ultralight, no less) 😅
Thanks to your recommendation I just received my Temple Fork 6’ ultralight trout and pan fish rod. I paired it with a Shimano Sahara 500 reel with 8# mono backing, 5# Power Pro braid and 4# Seaguar Blue Label fluorocarbon. I tied on a 1/32 oz Mule jig with a Mule donkey tail jr. I learned two things. That tiny line is very hard for me to tie knots with. I never would have believed any setup could throw those light lures as easily as this setup does. I haven’t fished with it yet but will keep you posted on how the Texas pan fish like your lures.
That’s a nice setup! Yeah the super low diameter line can be challenging to see and manage but it definitely casts a lot farther than high diameter line!
Haha, bringing back memories...hip waders and "my turn" to run the seine net through the creek-tube. You never wanted to be the 1st one through; spiders and snakes and snapping turtles, OH MY!
Between the paddle through Spider Tunnel and that big pike I had a brief wave of anxiety for you. That was a nice one and the donkey perch (love that) and bass it was a great day for you. Blessings Ethan and bring the net!!!
Nice to see you back on the paddle board. I usually have a cooler or chair on mine to sit on. They are great crafts to practice downsizing cause you have little space and balance is harder. Highly recommend a good Fanny pack. And for those toothy critters some lip grippers close at hand always, as soon as you get em close clip em and get to work!
I love fishing from the SUP. I am going to try finding a shorty cooler that I can strap down as a seat. I want it to be wide, sturdy, and short. And yes, I prefer to simplify my fishing trips so this forces me to avoid too much gear. Makes for a peaceful time on the water :)
I found your channel recently, ordered some 1/32 jig heads, black horsefly and donkey tail Jr's, adopted your "fish anything" mindset and my entire fishing experience has improved immensely. Not only am i catching more fish but they are all bigger (not just ultralight). I think the fish anything ultralight builds confidence and holds over when i begin to upgrade. My family (wife, son) and I have found a passion for wading and fishing small creeks. Your infectious joy and appreciation for the bite have meant alot to me and I am looking forward to placing another order. Now, where to find size 6, 8 ewg hooks? The weeds are wicked!!! Dadgummit!!!
I want to challenge you on your PFD remark, you should wear one anyways and I would say it's more important in shallow water because all it takes is one hit to the head and you're out cold face down in the water. It only takes a few inches of water to drown brother and wearing a PFD is a easy way to prevent it.
The bass we’re eating up those keitech mono spins the other day. They’re hard to find, though. I think it’s time for Mule Fishing to make some skirts and/or skirted jigs. 😊
how much did the miro Alabama rig way?. and Im pretty sure you have seen the new micro finesse goat by zman that's coming out this yeat that would be a killer combo with that
Never going to knock off someone else's concept. With Mule, it is always my goal to make light line multispecies lures that are a gap in the market. Not saying I will never do a skirted jig... But if I do, you can darn well expect it to be unique and value-add. Thank you both for your support!!
Just had an idea. I fish the mule minnow on my tenkara rod from time to time. Thinking about a rig where I use a 1" mule minnow on a light aberdeen to float on the surface and suspend a nymph. Half the time I'll have fish biting at the tippet ring and indicator. So why not use a fishable bait as a strike indicator? lol
FYI - this is becoming my confidence bait too craw on an ultralight skirted jig. Just had my best day on Muskegon lake with it. Even caught a bowfin on it! Ha!
I know I’m a little late to the party buttttt I was wondering if you think a 3/16 one of those jigs and burrow bug would cast okay on a ul spinning? Or if you would go for the 1/16 jig? Thanks Ethan and tight lines!!!!
That happened to me the other day, I caught a huge large mouth, I picked up my phone and it had the overheat message. I guess I have to bring something to keep it cool on my kayak.
Double uni is fast and easy. I recently upgraded to the Alberto knot on my heavy bass set-ups. It is superior, but tougher to learn and probably not needed on an ultralight. It does make a slimmer connection and is worth practicing, imo.
Nice Pike on BFS gear! What did you use to seal the cork on your Dobyns BFS rod? I have the Sierra Trout & Panfish UL Spinning rod and I’d like to protect the cork before it’s filled with fish slime.
Love the Kansas tshirt! I live in Fort Scott, I fish local lakes daily using your Mule Fishing lures! The Burro Bug Kills the bass and bull Bluegills here!
Thanks so much for the support! I grew up in Kansas and it will always be "home" to me even though Michigan is pretty much where I have settled down :)
i dont get paddle board fishing. there's no way its more comfortable than a kayak. if its all you got then i get it, but increasingly i have seen friends opt for paddle boards over kayak.
I prefer a kayak as well but the SUP offers much different benefits. Lighter, more portable, and more of a recreational watercraft for minimalistic fishing.
Walmart has a bait something like that go Walmart and look let me know what you think about it I think Walmart bait has 5-6-7 jigs on it it’s white jigs 1:16 that jig
I'm glad I'm not the only one who sometimes forgets to bring a net.
Sheesh I need to tattoo net on my forehead because I constantly forget it.
@@FishAnythingwhere can I buy that exact same A-rig sir
I found a bunch of micro jigs like this in a Japanese discount store in 1.5g and 2g with a size 6 hook. I've been using them with a bunch of micro plastics and I love them
Nice! The micro skirted jig is a great little setup for mostly bass, but as you see, it works for other fish too!
Had a good day fishing this morning, throwing your purple 16th oz mule jig with a four inch morning dawn roboworm, and caught a decent amount of little bass on the ultralight (the biggest one was about a pound and a half but a wonderful bit of fun on the ultralight, no less) 😅
I love to hear it! Thanks so much for the support. Happy to hear the jigs are working :)
That jig with a Donkey Tail Jr has become my favorite set up for everything!
Love to hear it! I’ll have to run the DT on it too
Love all your content. Have a blessed day Ethan. Tight lines brothers God bless!!
Thank you so much, Caleb. Hope you're having a stellar week!

Dude I had nightmares of that stupid tunnel. There had to be 1,000 spiders!
I'm always forgetting to bring a fishing net with me. Great video and great fish-catching too.
Thanks Shawn! Tight lines 👊🏽

Haha thanks Brian. Those tunnel spiders were not fun 😂
Great video. Gonna have to try a micro a-rig myself! That mono spin is one of my faves.
I can send you one of the ones that Enzo sent me. DM me on Insta and I will mail it to you :)
Dude, micro jigs are so freaking fun.
I have been thoroughly enjoying this little jig.
Super nice video Ethan. I love catching pike almost as much as bass. And don't ya just love the slime😅 Tight lines my friend.
They are super cool fish. Someday, I will do a series focused exclusively on them!
Dude! Love the A rig! That thing is sick!
It is definitely a cool little setup. Will be using it again in the future.

That was a cool way to fish. Some very nice fish
Thank you! 🤠👊🏽

Look for Ryugi Infini Hobbit series hooks. They have offset wide gap hooks down to size 8. It's what I use for my micro Texas rig.
Thank you so much Phillip!!! Sorry I just saw this - I’ve been a bit behind. So happy you’re having fun with it.
@@logannewman4532 These are also top quality hooks comparable to Owner and Gamakatsu. You won't be disappointed.
What a beauty of a Pike!

Should I wear a PFD while swimming in this lake too? I get what you’re saying though.
@@FishAnything
Swimming? Of course not. You're not standing on a platform that you could fall off of. ;)
@@RamonOutdoors maybe surfers should wear life jackets
@@FishAnything Sure they could, but usually they paddle through waves so it could be more of a hinderance 🤷🏻♂

I haven't weighed it but it is next to nothing. My guess is it was a hair over 1/8oz when it was all said and done (including three 1/32oz jigs).
I’m glad you like the a-rigs!! I hope you can land some hogs on em in the future 💪💪
Guaranteed Crappie when they are actively chasing bait. Spring & Fall :)
@zozros do you sell the a-rigs?
It’s funny how we always forget the net that micro Alabama rig looks pretty sweet I might have to find one
I need to get Enzo to start selling them :) it felt like a nice little setup!
@@FishAnything I’m workin on it :) just need a better way to get materials for em
Nice fishing 🎣 Love my Curado BFS
Excellent reel for BFS bass fishing
Nice fishing. For the pike you catched maybe learn how to hold a pike in it's gill. I could already tell what would happen if you hold it like this.
Thanks for the tip! 👊🏽
Would love to see a jig like the keitech from Mule!
I was about to comment that given how much Ethan likes it, we'll be seeing something similar from Mule in the near future.
Never going to knock off someone else's concept. With Mule, it is always my goal to make light line multispecies lures that are a gap in the market. Not saying I will never do a skirted jig... But if I do, you can darn well expect it to be unique and value-add. Thank you both for your support!!
That karma color is a killer. When does the store get a restock?
I am working on it - so sorry for the delay! Thanks for the support :)
I’ve got a few BFS jigs I want to try with the burro bug soon. I’m sure they’ll catch a lot
I bet you will enjoy them!
Get yourself an Ikea plastic chair top (about $20) and strap it to your paddleboard…makes a lovely comfy kayak out of the sup
I’ve definitely been thinking about making a seat mod. Thanks
Way to go dink master way to bring the pole benders lol
Haha thanks Wayne!
Lmao at the first 50 seconds. Admire the dedication, man
Not a fan of that stinky, spider-filled, tunnel. XD

True true. A lot of fly anglers do a “hopper dropper rig” for that same reason
FYI - this is becoming my confidence bait too craw on an ultralight skirted jig. Just had my best day on Muskegon lake with it. Even caught a bowfin on it! Ha!
Ooooh bowfin! I love those fish.
Gotta try some finesse jigs for sure
It is definitely a fun little technique!
I know I’m a little late to the party buttttt I was wondering if you think a 3/16 one of those jigs and burrow bug would cast okay on a ul spinning? Or if you would go for the 1/16 jig? Thanks Ethan and tight lines!!!!
The 3/16 would probably be a bit more than you want for an UL but it could work still. The 1/16 should work great.
1/16th
On a true ultralight, 1/16th (in my opinion) is the sweet spot for being able to cast fairly far and still sink slow enough.
Nice day of fishing. Looked worth the spiders and webs.😅
It was worth it, however that was spooky and I don't ever want to go through that dang tunnel again lol
You should sharpie a measuring board onto the deck of your board. Or a decal.
That is a good idea!
That happened to me the other day, I caught a huge large mouth, I picked up my phone and it had the overheat message. I guess I have to bring something to keep it cool on my kayak.
I probably should get a dark waterproof box that doesn't let so much light in.
Quick question when using 6lb finesse braid to 4lb mono/fluoro in a spinning setup what knot would you recommend/set up?
I always do a double uni knot. Simple yet effective!
I got some basic "cork sealant" on amazon and it has been doing fine for me!
@@FishAnything Thanks!
Where can I find info to purchase the micro alabama rig?
It was something a subscriber made for me but I don’t think he sells them.
Where you buy the micro Alabama rig?
As I said, a viewer actually gave it to me! Maybe someday he will start selling them. If so, I will make a video with them and let you know.

Not sure! As mentioned, I got these from someone for free from instagram.
Why? Just why? You post again after i ordered some mule jigs and bait. Went and spent money on some gear too for ultralight fishing.
Lol sorry bud - I sincerely appreciate the support! I hope you crush fish on the gear :)
@@FishAnything all good. I need to get back into ultralight anyways. My PB pike was caught on ultralight. 36 inches. 😁
Be careful hanging your feet off the board man. If theres pike in there, they may give ya a test bite or two.
Lol if a Pike is that aggressive, more power to him. I believe they will likely keep their distance. Hope I never found out differently!
That rig looks like it come from Walmart
Not sure what you mean, but a viewer made it for me and it seems really high quality. Definitely a fan!
Walmart has a bait something like that go Walmart and look let me know what you think about it I think Walmart bait has 5-6-7 jigs on it it’s white jigs 1:16 that jig
First!!!🎉#️⃣1️⃣
Thanks Michael :)
Take some time and learn how to hold a pike, theres a couple ways that are way safer than the hold you took
That's the Kansas boy in me :)
