- My humble attempt at covering Maddie Rice's awesome guitar solo from The Midnight's song "Neon Medusa" off their latest album 'Horror Show'. I've been a huge fan of The Midnight ever since discovering their music a couple of years ago. This song immediately became one of my new favorites as soon as I heard it. I do not own the guitar backing track, but instead used the last few measures of the original song to solo over, as the chord progression is the same.

Keep at in man, you'll get it! It took me several weeks with multiple hours put in every day. Still not perfect by any means, but it was as close as I could get it. There is some hybrid picking in the original track that I kind of skipped over and changed some (since I can't hybrid pick much at all).

Thanks man! I honestly don't think there is a backing track available at this time unfortunately. I actually just soloed over the last few measures where there was no singing, and linked it up in editing so that it was a seamless transition.

Hey man I loved it, but I'm really wanting to know what is played during the singing part before, the guitar plays a repeating ascending pattern that is super hard to figure out for me, you have any idea ?
Thanks man! It sounds like she is using a dotted 8th delay, but I could be wrong. I'm playing with it now and will let you know if I figure it out.
@@NickSchrader Thanks a bunch man, do you have discord ? I'm trying to figure it out in midi form and I got something quite close but it seems super hard to play on the guitar. I tried also watching the live versions but the guitar player does not really play the same thing live it seems !
@@thedarkflowkiller You're welcome! I don't have discord, but I made a little video of what I think is being played. I think the key is in the dotted 8th note delay to give that faster feel. I could be completely wrong, but it's the best guess I have for now. I hope it's helpful.
