Hi, I’m Patrick. I’m a freelance science writer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training and a master’s in clinical exercise physiology. I used to work in the clinical setting as a certified athletic trainer, physical therapy aide, and a certified strength and conditioning specialist. After working in the clinical setting, I went back to school and became a teacher. The goal of my content is to help normal people, not just pre-med students, learn about the human body. That might mean explaining a topic from an anatomy class or exploring a topic from medical history.

Mnemonic for differentiating between Externus/Internus obliquus abdominis and Externi/Interni intercostales by the direction of the muscle fibers:
Hands on pockEts = Externus/Externi
Hands on tIts = Internus/Interni

@@Corporis 😊Thank you!
@@Corporis I don't think I could have done it without your videos 💛
Sir, in the first row you mentioned Exeternal Oblique, furtherway you say external.... maybe an E to much...I like the explinations
Tell us a little bit about your heritage and why you have this unique ability to be able to teach the way you do there's something in your background I'm sure it would be interesting if you care to share it. Would you mind sharing with your parents do for a living?
Do you have a video on the directions of fibers and the training principles based on the direction of fibers? Is it advantageous to train movements based on the direction of fibers or it doesn't matter? Thanks!
I haven't done one yet, but I have plans to. Feel free to email me at patkellyteaches at gmail if there's a specific lesson you want to see. I'm open to ideas!
Lifting along side studying anatomy in my opinion makes it a million times easier 😂
Agreed, especially for the musculoskeletal system. I’ll mention it in the next video, but the next time you bench press, you’ll feel your serrated anterior contract on the final push of the press
can you describe your information about the muscles in terms is that are refined, layman terms😮
Great video, and I second the praise of KenHub also!

This comment make me feel very old
👍👍
*casually mocks introvert people*
good video!
you forgot to elaborate on the serratus anterior :((
That is a shoulder muscle.. it has actions on the scapula, not actions on the back. That's why it wasn't mentioned in this group.
Is he low key hot or am i just single for too long? 😂
ext oblique run inf medially (hands in pocket) internal oblique run supra medially (hands on tit)
