I am a long time customer of Lost Creek. Matt and Jason are very straight forward guys. Through the years, they have helped me equip my shop on a budget. A++. Thanks Mr. Pete!
I'm hooked on this channel now Mr. Pete . I thought I was the only one who thrilled at the chance of old toolbox rummaging . Great job on the quality of time spent . 👏
Lyle - It's always interesting to see what is in those old tool boxes, never know what will turn up. Thanks for the 'tour'. You and your family have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Thanks for the trip through someone else's tool stash. We all have a bit of voyeurism built in us, I think. It also helps trigger ideas for our own boxes, tool stashes or project ideas. I hope you have a merry Christmas!!!
Lyle, Merry Christmas to you and your family. And thank you very much for getting me into this hobby and for all you do. It's so much nicer to build stuff with a lathe and mill, than it was cobbling together with a hacksaw , files and grinders.
I used to have a split pattern for those anvils. My students made a bunch of them when I taught general metals. Merry Christmas Lyle and hoping for a better 2024.
Good morning Mr Pete. Got my first lathe at 64 years old. Thanks to you I'm back at it again, thanks for your videos. You're the closest thing to my high school shop teacher, who would now be about your age. Atlas V54.
Merry Christmas Mr. Pete. As always I enjoy taking a road trip with you. I really should visit Lost Creek but with my iron deficiency I'd end up hauling something home I have no room for.
Hoping you picked up that Unimat. I’d like to see more content line about it. I’m being a little selfish, of course, I own one, with lots of accessories and haven’t used it much.
"sandwich" drawer. Thats a new one to me. I went shopping online at Lost Creek last month. Trying to figure out how to get one of those lathes back to South Texas. Merry Christmas Mr. Pete, the shop teacher I never had! Ken
Lyle, does LCM happen to have any working Traveler Dial's. I will contact them after I get my cancer prognoses, but like to to have a TDG for my Leblond 17 carriage. Don't need but one, apron can do with out. Thx for the tour, and you and Jeanette have a Blessed Holiday, Bear. PS-ever have to ware a neck brace? Even making videos hurts, 🙂
Not sure what the triangular piece is that was bolted to the milling table of the Unimat; Anyone have a clue? the add-on to raise the milling head seems like a lot of over-kill!
A great place to visit is “ Our Heritage Industrial Museum “ located in Greenfield, Mass. That area was where most of the earliest machinist tools were made like Starret, Miller Falls and a few others. They have a RUclips video of the museum which you should watch. Also if anyone has any old machinist tools they would like to donate contact James Terapane at the museum. Thanks for the video.
WHAT!? No snacks in the snack drawer! That breaks every code in the book. Remember kids, don't get dirty before 9:30 and never start anything new after 2:00.
I bought a used lathe and milling machine from these fine folk. If you're looking for good used tools at reasonable prices and like dealing with good honest home folk, give them a call.
Great to see that you are still having fun looking at tools! Thanks for all your educational videos over the years.
🎄🎄
Great tool box treasure hunt video. No roast beef sandwich in the sandwich drawer was a real gyp
Lol

So true, merry Christmas
It’s pretty cool to go through and guess the specific job the machinist did, by looking at the tools alone.

Merry Christmas Mr. Pete. We’re those still pictures of the Unimat lathe/mill a teaser for your small machine series?
Yes
Great to see that you are still making new videos, and as usual, interesting videos. Merry Christmas and happy new year, Mr. Pete.

Happy Christmas!
Merry Christmas🎄🎄
I just want to say without people like you sharing what you know is a gift thank you.
👍👍🎄🎄 happy new year
I love shops like that, but it's best for my bank account that I just stay away from them.
Merry Christmas Lyle and family.
You discovered treasure. There was someone's set of safe deposit box keys in the top drawer. That's where I keep mine too.
Lol
"sandwich" drawer. Thats a new one to me. I went shopping online at Lost Creek last month. Trying to figure out how to get one of those lathes back to South Texas. Merry Christmas Mr. Pete, the shop teacher I never had! Ken
👍👍👍👍🎄
merry christmas
I strive to keep only tools in my tool boxes, but always loose that battle.
Yes
Lost Creek, more fun than a human should be allowed to have. I need to take a drive out there instead of drooling over pictures and video.
If you ever do, let me know, I will meet you there

Does this place buy stuff? I’ve got a bunch of dial indicators, small pressure gauges, miscellaneous tooling etc that I need to get rid of.
Probably
So Mr Pete, do they sell miscellaneous tools And boxes to the public then ? Looks like a great place to find random used items for manual machining ?
I sometimes run videos titled
Petebay. Watch for a video in a month or two.
2:05, "I'd like to have those ..." Ha Ha Ha Ha. The kind of candy that won't rot your teeth!
lol

@@mrpete222 I wonder how many people know what this draw is actually for or why it has a finger hole in the bottom?
👍
I bought a used lathe and milling machine from these fine folk. If you're looking for good used tools at reasonable prices and like dealing with good honest home folk, give them a call.

Machinist archeology.
Is this a TEMPORARY VIDEO?
No
If a toolbox could talk ....
Yes
There are so many tools from the past and present that I have so much life left and they will not ever be used again it's kind of sad and unfortunate
Merry Christmas Mr. Pete!
Merry Christmas
