Here's Antonio Rey playing his Taranta 'Maestro Lucia' on a gorgeous 2007 Manuel Reyes flamenco blanca. Recorded live in concert at the Guitar Salon International showroom in Santa Monica, CA.

Está obra es sublime, maravillosa pero la frase que se saca después del trémolo del minuto 3:48 al 4:00 es de otra galaxia. Esa transición de la música flamenca a la clásica, Esa obra tiene tantos momentos mágicos nada más desde el inicio pero ese en particular me encantó. Este señor es de lo mejor en el flamenco actual.

I was third row for this amazing show. Antonios use of dynamics is truly incredible, the way he plays a gentle melody followed fierce technique is truly inspiring. A lot of people are commenting about the 2007 Reyes that he's playing - a few hours before the show I got to play that guitar for a little while, then I was surprised that he played that guitar for the show, being such a big fan of Antonio's that made the show very special for me..

This is the best artist to have performed for GSI. He is as an amazing improviser, he could have extended this to a 30 minute performance of a taranta if he wanted too.

kpcart The only thing that may be improvised is the order he plays everything, everything he plays in the video he’s played before. I’m familiar enough with his músic, have seen him live a few times and have his albums. I honestly think he’s the best flamenco guitarist right now but just saying he’s not improvising.
@@jgoldie100Sabe improvisar, pero como bien dices aquí no lo hace. Si bien es cierto que hay una improvisación química, como cualquier guitarrista flamenco que sea mínimamente bueno. En eso también entra el orden por supuesto, a lo que has hecho mención. Ocurre que la gente que no está tan familiarizada con el flamenco ni entiende sus elementos, automatismos, etc al "apreciar" un cierre, rasgueo, parte de la melodía, orden de los pasajes, etc ,algo diferente al de la otra "pieza" ( que es la misma básicamente ) pues asocia eso a la improvisación convencional, la del jazz. Eso es improvisación química, nada que ver con los patrones de la improvisación del jazz. Saludos

It is interesting why Antonio does not play Andalucian guitar(promoted by Ruben) here, but Manuel Reyes?
The answer is simple - this guitar is far better.
