Yoyoka is a drumming historian. Amazing.
Holy cow the pianist is good - 11 yrs old!!!
No kidding. Pretty amazing.
I hope they will upload Sparkling (Yoyoka's own song) with just piano and drums. I watched a live stream with these two girls jamming. They were just fooling around, creating new songs, but they played Sparkling too.
Stream was full of technical problems, but piano & drums version of Sparkling was fantastic.
@@petarc7131 Sparkling live during the Tokyo and Sapporo concerts with the band was spectacular!
Yoyoka layin' down the groove, solid and funky as always!
There’s so much improvisation going on and all the musicians are playing off of each other so well. The little pianist is amazing playing jazz.
Yoyoka is just brilliant. And the pianist did an excellent amazing job. So freaking amazing.
Yaaaaayyy Yoyoka getting in the groove with Stevie Wonder's Superstition rolling with the funk. Her timing is awesome and she never misses a beat! I love to listen and watch her perform. She may be one of the youngest but she is the most talented and professional! More Yoyoka, More Yoyoka! Yoyoka is Awesome!!!
Man! YOYOKA...you just killed me. So good. And the pianist! GREAT SESSION 👍
Such a cute and talented young pianist. its interesting to hear a classically trained piano player trying to play Stevie funk piano while still keeping it jazz and classical. Yoyoka is amazing as usual. the break she did at 2:02 woke me up real fast. and of course the ending solo, she always impresses me. I have to always remind myself that she is only 13. I can't even imagine how good she will be when she is 18. my hope is that she would find a great rock band doing original music. and she can keep doing cool jams like this on the side. or anything else she wants to do. she has a bright future no matter what direction she goes in. but I think her playing style lends itself to Rock. and we need some of these great young musicians to keep rock alive.
Little girl on the piano was grooooving!
So refreashing. The Soma Family once again shares their wonderful values with this very "Homegrown" production.
#1 favorite drummer, Yoyoka, starts the groove, and holds that funky bands beat all the way and keeps this group rolling on setting the funky groove all the way to that super funky cosmic landing🎶💜🌻🦋✨️🎶🌸💥🎶
I look forward to the day that Yoyoka is playing her own music
Here you are ruclips.net/video/llB8VzCdGyY/видео.html
I hope Yoyoka and the young piano player are friends and collaborators for a long time. Magic.
I have a major concern about this performance - this much talent compressed into such a small space has got to be downright dangerous lol.
Seriously, not only do we have the brilliance of Yoyoka, but at the piano we have a little girl with the talent and soul of a grizzled jazz veteran of at least forty years experience. I think this performance actually broke my brain 😅
So much to unpack here:
- She's obviously enjoying herself, deep in the groove, and making contact with the bass player in a way I don't think I've seen before. That's probably her emerging from the normal shyness of youth we all have; I think she's now feeling less like a kid amongst adults and more like an equal to the adults, a thing which her obviously excellent schooling in the US arts academy has given her.
- That solo! Holy cow! Again, her recent school experience in the US has, I think, given her a whole new set of chops, and the effortless confidence to put them to full use. She really has broken through to a whole different plane of existence here.
- That young lady on the piano... I think Yoyoka just seems to fall in with the very best players, and players that tend to utterly defy expectations. I'm absolutey blown away by her own confidence.
Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant execution of your take on one of my favourite songs!
Agreed. I watched this, the Teen Spirit and Weak covers in a row and had some trepidations about all three performances. NOT about Yoyoka, but her fellow musicians and the "performances". I may have placed my comments in the wrong slot, but they're there under the Weak video. Here's hoping someone will change my mind.
Remember, YOYOKA has performed live and with adult pros for over 10 years. Shy is not one of her attributes. The recent live concerts in Tokyo and Sapporo showed her poise and professionalism have reached another level. She introduced and conducted little interviews with each guest member with confidence most adults don't possess. We forget she is only 13.
EVERYTHING YOU SAID! Well she's not shy she's played before thousands at Summer Sonic, with Fallout Boy, Cindy Lauper and at the Toyko fashion show. BUT EVERYTHING ELSE SPOT ON!
YOYOKA having way more fun in this one!
ITS BEEN AWHILE SINCE YOU HAVE POSTED A NEW VIDEO.
I'M GLAD YOU ARE HAVING FUN . GREAT STUFF 👍🏻 👌 👍🏻 YOYOKA.
🥁🎤🎸🎶🎵🎼🎹🎻🎷
Still got it after all these years!
Give these guys some love, won't you?
Wow! Just a fantastic performance!! Amazing improvisation... and oh, what a bang of an ending!!! Bravo Yoyo!!!
That was AWESOME!!! That will definitely get the party started.
Japan is SOUL 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
No shit baby. Fantastisk.
That's a lot of music in a little room! I wish I was there.
Yoyoka sees everything.
I don't believe Yoyoka and Ai grew up with I-Phones stuck to their faces. They actually learned and studied about something else. Musical magic.
LOVE your work little sister! Thanks for sharing!

So much talent!
FABULOUS.. You all killed it
Big smile! It's a given that Yoyoka will blow us away... What a drum solo! And this time I'm also amazed by the pre-teen on keys!
Super fun to watch, great stuff all. Pat 🏴
Great show…great energy. Wish I was there, 🎉
No matter the group or the style of music, Yoyoka is always impressive with an outstanding mastery of her drums. And during her solo I had the impression of hearing Bonzo, it's incredible.
Lots of Bonzo in that girl.
Great Solo!!!
This is where the praying mantis comes in. The praying mantis is one of the most unique and bad ass things on this earth. Yoyoka does a praying mantis move at the end. Never saw it coming. Amazing.
It is so much fun to watch a group of musicians enjoying playing together! Hope to hear more collaborations from these two talents!
Fantastic. It's like I'm right in the room with you guys!
GREAT JOB !!!! 👏👏👏👏🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁❤❤❤❤❤
Nice young people movin to the groovin.
Cool refreshing live music
Around 7:20. When I knew YOYOKA is a musical "praying mantis". She takes everything but the ears and eyes. The moneymakers.
Groovin' just Groovin'. Great to see the laughter too, means the musicians are enjoying themselves. It is supposed to be fun after all.
Lady Bonzo or what..amazing and she aint warmed up yet, go for it girl
wow!
Wow!!! Loved it!!
Danish + Swedish +Icelandic + Findlandish+Poilishisnous. I love the Poles and Hotgel Warsawa in real Poland. Funny. No bpg deal. Miss you all. For real.
Awesome!
Easy. Youngsters doing lovwly things
Bot
She got me again. Sneaky good.
She squats a bunch. Do not mess with YOYOKA. She sees everything.
Kids having fun.
👏👏👏👏👏
Stepping up their game every single new day.
Yoyo hittin' drop notes like a beast
❤
Play those blues girl!! :)
On piano: Ai Furusato. Brilliant pianist at 11 (I think).
What's up Yoyoka how have you been, good I hope. I was looking at your kit and I noticed you do not have a tambourine mounted on your high hat like your favorite drummer. Thought I would point that out to ya LOL. YOU SOUND AWESOME AS USUAL NICE AND TIGHT AND GROOVEY.
A good story.
👍..........👏👏👏👏
Secret of Jazz and comedy is timing.
Who is the pianist? And how old? She is amazing.....WOW!
Ai Furusato 11year-old
55 X 1/5, 44 X 1/4, or 33 X 1/3. You pick. Wow is correct. Mind blowing.
The real good future of musik would do very well to learn from other disciplines.
Praying mantis move was mind blowing.
Most people cannot play guitar or perform piano like that until they are at least of legal age. Amazing.
If that girl will continue playing and make the world see her as a drummer, she will be legendary. If she decides to leave the drums she will nevertheless be legendary :)
YOYOKA near 14 knows how to move the money pile. She stopped playing Whack-A-Mole a long time ago.
After the drum solo, it might be the Carmine Appice Edition.
Nice, staying in the pocket.
Nobody knew but her.
did yoyoka and family go back to japan for a visit, or did they give up on america?
Visit
Already back in US
Back in Japan?
I think it's Sapporo.
Where did all the good music go? Here is a partial answer to that very big question.
Thanks! Leave Oakland for a safer place.
New small people vs big very small people.
Just those kids who learned how to read and see music sheets.
Hope I'm not stepping on my own face again, but where is that pesky nice kid little brother of Yoyoka's. I hope they are friends because they were born to be. "Watch out" for your lovely big sister good young man. Proper preparation prepares yourself. Something like that. She is ultimately counting on you to the end for unconditional love and protection. Arigato.
I feel bad.
Where is this?
Read the discription🙂.

Little kids who look like big kids and big kids who look like little kds.
Excellent. Too bad nobody plays horns or synth.
Or Oboe for that matter.
Pianist is bigger than she appears.
YOYOKA did this. Had no part in it.
Who is biggest kid in the room? Tough question. Good luck.
well it was very something......
Nice beat, but that piano player!
I could be wrong but I feel that Yoyoka seems a bit bored... where is the bubbly joy that she usually shows in other videos? 😮
Are you sure you watched the same session I did. This is Yoyoka in her natural habitat. She is absolutely Daffy Duck on caffeine here compared with her usual game face at live gigs Seems to me like she is into the music pocket deep. Give it another look!😊
Chris is 100% correct on this one! However, the 'Week' cover does show YOYOKA a bit bored.
Starting to look for the perfect symphony. She is very capable and needs no one's help. She is just having fun. You must have missed it.
No flying monkeys in this band. Only good intentions.
Por que parece ahora un niño?? 🤔
That pianist just appears small.
I remember, but they are all dead.
