This channel was created to assist in answering all of your questions about Films and Comics in an easy to understand way.
Outbreak is set 10 years after the movie Aliens. This story focuses on two of the survivors, Hicks and Newt. They have both been struggling with the aftermath of their encounter with the Xenomorphs. Hicks has never gotten over the annihilation of his squad and agrees to covert mission to travel to the alien home world to recover some eggs and destroy the hive.

This is one of the better Alien stories written in the Aliens Universe. it's almost a bit of a shame it is non-canon, but it doesn't stop it from being a good read.
Minus the booties on the space jockey, this is so much better than the way the story went with the newest two.
This isn't the sequel we got but it's the one we all deserved. This was amazing! Its how they should have continued the series. If they could retcon everything starting with Alien 3 forward and reboot the series starting here, I think I'd be happy with that. Plus its a beautiful evolution of the synthetic person, from Ash in the first movie being a homicidal maniac to Bishop being a good friend to Bueller being able to love. Thanks dude! I read those books. Awesome story. A lot of the earlier books after were also amazing and I think a few were made into comics.
Hmm...i have book by Steve Perry called Earth Hive and its plot VERY close to this one. Actually, good read. There is rumors i was one of rejected Alien 3 plot prototypes and if only didnt rejected it...
I have at least two more books in series, which continue story, but both is progressively worse then first one.

I originally had a complete edition of outbreak as a pre-teen (having binged watched the Alien films and the Predator films over two weekends when I was 10(fuck that was stupid of me. Nightmares for weeks)and found a copy at a comic shop). This version was a first edition since it had been given some enhancement to the black and white strip and also contained the original names. However it also had several tangent segments including how humanity dealt with similar ship infestations after Hadley's hope, A possible explanation on how the alien hierarchy worked along with a hives life cycle in its natural ecosystem and how it was interrupted from outside forces. At the end of the complete edition of outbreak there was also a series of single page strips each containing a single individual in a different scenario during the earth infestation. I wanted to ask you if these tangents were in the omnibus you reviewed or any version you had on hand? Or did you simply skip them for time saving purposes. I would honestly like to know if you even knew about these 5-6 paged side stories that truly made the story more enticing but the Alien verse as a whole more exotic and strange.

I have the original comics, and always wished this was the direction the movies went. Oh well. Whats odd is I now have the collections in the Omnibus format but they changed the names of the Newt and Hicks to Billy and Wilks. Same as the novelization...annoying.

I like these engineer designs more, the human features they decided on makes them look kinda arrogant to me somehow, probably because the first was kinda baby faced... but less human features like the trunk and all that gives more of a reasonable air of highness that looks more earned, like how you see an elephant and know it is intelligent but in a different way and it makes them unsettling...

i seriously hate the Alien prequel movies Prometheus and Alien Covenant. though it had a few gems such as the neomorph, and David being a mad robot, but him being the creator of the xenomorphs and the space jockeys being humans is absolutely horrendous. utter garbage puke =p
Okay, so it went from aliens as figurative way to show footage of parasite contamination of sorts (unknown alien parasites being way more deadly than terrestrial one) as a cautionary tale of sorts (try to avoid contaminated food, environments or unprotected sex) into an all encompassing fable showing humans as a kind of cancer highly destructive to the planet and to themselves.
Shit.
Why the fuck would they not use this plot in the movie. Look at that fucking space jockey
