    Damn Max, glad you came out of that alive let alone injured. What a story, listening to you retelling every account reminded me of when I had to describe my experience a hundred times. I could remember the sound of metal on metal when he loaded the gun and how it felt when he pressed the barrel up against my temple. Even the look in their eyes as they walked up to me and what they asked me. The main guy screaming “kill him!” Over and over again and the guy with gun pressed against the side of my head saying “please man, just do what he says, I don’t want to have to kill you..”. Sadly this was common place in my country and my experience was insignificant compared to what many others endured. You may not need a professional but you likely wouldn't know if you do or not at this stage. Glad you are ok, man. The lesson I would take is don't go down dark roads and stick to doing as much as possible during the day. Also, carry pepper spray everywhere if you aren't cool w/ carrying a gun or aren't able to. God bless.

      I hope someone reads this and needs help after a traumatic event. I work in psychiatry and I strongly advice you, Max, to get some help. Search for EMDR treatment. It will help you recover, because I can see from the video you are showing real signs of PTSD.

    • @Døp1esYT
      @Døp1esYT 2 года назад +11

      @@shaunv.8527 you guys are totally abusing with the whole get help stuff. Usually just talking to loved ones and good friends, or getting all the thoughts of your chest with strangers and friends, like Max has done right now, helps way more than a "professional". The signs he's showing are those of recovery and maturity, not PTSD that's gonna get worse. Like he said there's always a lesson to be learned, and he was spot on on noticing this time it was learning to accept stuff like this can happen to anyone and there's nothing he could have done to prevent it. He even did the right thing by chosing to not run away and show he had nothing on him, not like the officers that got shot at. Being able to talk about it like that and showing it to the whole world on RUclips shows immense signs of maturity and awareness, plus it'll probs help him more than anything, because he truely got the thoughts and lesson of his chest. He's got friends and loved ones to talk to even more deeply about it. Psychiatrists can help if you've got bad listeners in your life, I've been through worse and can say for a fact the only ones that really made a difference weren't professionals, except if you've got no one else in your life that can talk deeply with you, then it is a good idea to seek professional help. Smart and spiritually connected people go through hell and heal themselves. Not everyone needs to run to a psychiatrist every time they experience something dangerous or get out of their comfort zone. I hate this mindset of over medicating and forcing therapy on people for small things that happen in life. It's life anything can happen, living in fear and the need to always seek professional help will only make things worse and make you ultra dependent.
      On another note I would also like to add the first reply to the comment is very important. A pepper spray in this kind of situation would have been deadly for both Max and his friend. Pepper sprays can help in some situations, definitly not this one. Not even a gun would have helped. They had the tactical advantage and surprise effect. It can happen on any street, they were driving on the open street not the dark road where the dog took the gigantic shit. Terrible advice tbh

      @@Døp1esYT agreed, therapists and professionals are too overused these days. I’ve been through em and they do not provide anything more than a good listener. I don’t mind if they’re the last resort, but to go running to one without tackling it on your own or with the ones close to you is not the smart move. I'm from Caguas, PR and cannot beging to tell you how pissed this makes me. Just last week my friends and I are having a heavy conversation about how act 20/22 helps PR or not and I'm holding the side of the argument that it does help and I'm glad people like you decide to leave their lives behind to come and contribute to our society, be it by sales taxes, property taxes, buying from local businesses, compensating at least in a small way for the population decline which is leaving us with an older population that doesn't contribute as much to the island's GDP. The life lesson you were looking for could've easily been to tell yourself it was a bad idea to move to PR, and I thank you for (at least in the video) not reaching that conclusion. Know that there are a lot of people in PR who care not only about themselves but also about folks like you and thank you for deciding to leave your original home behind and come here to contribute and call this place home, even if it's only for a few years. If it's any consolation, I've lived in PR for all of my 42 years and something like this has never happened to me. I also look forward to go to Santurce whenever I can since there's so many cool new places popping up all the time, and experiences like yours will not put me off since I know it's far from the norm. Thank you Max for coming and being another one of us. Super sorry this happened to you

    Glad you're ok, i had a similar experience when I was 17, caught a dude in my house after school. I was able to get past him ( twice my size) and grab a pistol. I spun around and pulled the trigger, he had actually beat a man to death the day b4 and left him in a dumpster. One of a few attempts on my life, are you struggling at all with memory due to adrenaline? Ive noticed in these intense situations they can be hard to recall. I dont remember his face very well even though i looked at him and put the pistol damn near to his temple. Glad you're here to tell your tale.

    Max I am so sorry this happened to you. I visited PR two years ago and man, I could tell it was different then my safe bubble of suburban America. I am so glad the woman is ok, and even better that they tracked your buddy's phone to find them. Y'all are heroes man, what a blessing that you were the guys walking by to help catch these scumbags. My take, honestly, is living in PR worth it? It's pretty dang dangerous compared to many places in the states. Just a thought. I hope y'all recover soon. You should take the time you need. Much love, take care!

    Almost the same exact scenario happened to me at 16 years old. I reacted the same way you did. We didn’t have cell phones then. But it was a watch I had on.
    My best friend laying on the ground with a gun to his head. I have a pistol pointed at my chest and I’m arguing with the a$$hole about taking my watch. Your view on life will change drastically as time goes on. At least mine did. Tendencies change and, at least for me, I developed a heightened sense of what was happening around me when I was around people. Absolutely nothing you can do sometimes.
    Made me realize that everyday is a Lottery, just never know if it’s a lottery you want to win.
