yep... rode air nz this week from auckland to singapore and honestly the service was meh (ofc i did not get to fly business class, so there's that) and good was bland the seats were so tight and the business class looks so weird....
It’s horrible. This and the similar old Virgin Atlantic product are the worst business in the sky. Absolutely Criminal to have window seats where you can’t look out the window.
Herringbone was something the Cathay Pacific tried many years ago and it was a disaster so much so that it was replaced with the much better reverse herringbone (seat facing the window)
I remember when first travelling in this seat when most carriers were still flying around with cradle/recliner seats or the more modern ones with sloping /angled flat seats. Back then it was amazing and still have a nostalgic soft spot for it even though it’s so out of date and cramped across the shoulders. Anyone who has never flown business before would probably still enjoy it.
I agree that the layout is increasingly outdated, however heaven been lucky to fly once and it is a very very good sleep very comfortable and excellent food and service
The airline is Air New Zealand. He booked this flight using Air Canada miles. Air Canada is partners with Air New Zealand, so you can use Air Canada miles to book flights on Air New Zealand.
I get why this is BUSINESS product. It’s supposed to be for eating and sleeping. Not daydreaming. The bed is super comfy and long, the food is gourmet. Just what a business traveller needs. All be it isn’t the most luxurious product but it’s designed for those who want to work, eat and sleep and it does those things really well
Unpopular opinion but this is by far my favorite seat! Best sleep I’ve ever had on a plane, every single time 👌🏻 Is it perfect? No. But if I’m going to spend like $2k on a plane ticket, I expect to be able to sleep I don’t care about anything else. So the idea of stuffing my feet into a tiny cubby hole? No thanks. I’m over 6 foot and this seat is still the most comfortable
I thought the bed was one of the comfiest in the sky! I was able to sleep soundly. For what I paid (75k Aeroplan pts or 65k pts with Chase’s transfer bonus), I thought it was worth it! 🎉
Hate? It is the stupidest layout ever. Constant visual contact with other passengers, no window view, super narrow seats, and the flight attendant touching your feet with the food cart
So, I'm 6'5" and comfortable in these seats. I sleep really well. These Air NZ flights have some of the best food in the air. And now they are promoting quality NZ food. The best choice would be the A seats. If you are on the right side of the cabin, all seats face into the aisle. But so what? Once you're in your seat, you only see the feet and lower legs of a couple of other passengers.
This design passed through a team of product managers and engineers and marketing who all decided this was a great idea ! goes to show…

I think British Airway's old business is worse
@@Potsie95 Agreed.
Ever flown Air India? 😅 This is much better, at least there is no middle seat
why can i only hear from left ear
cuz u booked the "Basic Economy lite Class" the seat also doesn't come included

This is not old, but a redesign that we all hate. Looking forward to a reredesign
The coffin seat
Give me Emirates business class any day

I’d rather fly with Spirit than spend my money on these seats.
No! I pay business class for privacy
A flight attendant told me Air NZ know pax hate it and “plan” to refit. Not holding my breath.
The mock-ups are presently being evaluated.
this is soo good to know
@@DIJITALSON really?!
i would never fly business with airNZ
Thank you for the info!!! I like your channel 🙌

Dawg. I’m lucky if my seat is as comfortable as a rusty folding chair.
a flight from New Zealand to the US with Air Canada???

@@sfboy987 oh
Next time someone asks me why I only fly economy I’ll show them this
You do pay for what you get though. Compared to Business class with AC or UA
I've flown Air NZ in one of their angled seats, it was awful! If you get sir sick, do NOT fly in that type of plane/configuration.
tf is this audio mixing. one sided for commentary but sound effects both ears. tf
These are first world problems lol. Still better than the average economy seat ..

I'm with you on that. There's nothing to see out the window most of the time, anyway. I've flown Air New Zealand on this service quite a few times.
no way !
Brian Channel, can you teach, how buy business class? On sale?
Check out seats.aero. It's the best way to find the cheapest business class flights across a range of dates!

Is it worth it? Looking to travel business end of November with air NZ across the tasman
