The fault in the mirror stickers is that dumbledore didn't actually see himself holding socks like he tells harry, he is lying. He actually saw his family just like harry did. Also Ron sees himself as head boy, prefect, quidditch captain, because he is always out shone by his brothers

This Harry Potter reboot makes me desperate for a Lord Of The Rings reboot. They could do great things with a LOTR reboot using some of the new pieces that they've introduced in these sets. An Edoras set in the style of this set would be amazing.
Young Filmmakers I wish but they cancelled LOTR cause sales were low and the films were way inappropriate for legos age demographic
So I'll admit that I don't really harry potter but my God all of the figures and sets ive seen are some of the best that Lego has ever produced
I realy like this set..; I just don't like that they added the basilisk in it... now they had to make it with the 'leftover parts. It would have been suited better if they made a seperate set for the chamber of secrets as a whole. also, magonnagals main face looks like she had a couple of potions too many :p
The inclusion of the basalisk annoyed me. It seemed like a last minute addition and I wish they would have saved it for a Chamber of Secrets set. Apart from that I love this set. Great review Jang.
I agree, they would include some more interior detailing, and one more figure or something instead. This snake is not even good build by itself.
Mr J it does not look like the basilisk to me. Could even be Nagini, Voldemorts snake. Although that wouldn't make much sense either.
Why even include the Basilisk?
Use the budget to make the hall better, or the tower.
Save the basilisk for the champer of secrets set which will eventually be released 🙄

Don't worry, the Basilisk was just added to give children something to fight. There will very likely be a full-on Chamber of Secrets set with a new Basilisk mold.

They didn’t show all the visions of th mirror in the movie, but all of them are mentioned in the book :)
Márton Biró they should have added Harry with the Stone, rather than Ron with the quidditch outfit. I think it's more important to the story.
Yet two of the four are wrong (but fun). The Dumbledore vision is ok, because it's funny and he tells Harry he sees this (probably not true). But Quirrel's is definitely wrong. He was explicitely NOT able to get the stone because he didn't want it more than the power it would bring. So he would see himself powerful, but not the stone itself.

I find it weird that Voldemort isn't supposed to have a nose but he's one of the only Lego figures that has something for a nose

I believe that the last mirror image you showed is when Harry asked Ron to look into the mirror and Ron's vision is that he is winning the Quidditch Cup.
Not a Harry Potter fan at all but can really appreciate this set and its value! I wish I'd get the same amount of subjective value with say the Star Wars or Marvel sets I purchase. I compare this to say the Dr Strange Sanctum Santorium set for a similar price I just looking at it I "feel" like you get more with this set. Especially with the minifigs alone.

Peach Pickles no reason. Just never got into the movies or books. It's nothing personal towards the franchise. Only so many series/themes one can follow. I can appreciate their fanbase though. I look at this set totally from an outside perspective and can really appreciate it. I'm sure the Potter fanbase will nit pick it to death....Similar to what I do with Star Wars sets.

I think that LEGO should have made the chamber of secrets as a set for around 60 bucks. It would include a bigger and better basilisk, Fawkes,the chamber and the figures would be Ginny, Harry, Lockheart, Ron, and Tom Riddle.
The one with the broom and trophy is Ron's view of the Mirror of Erised. He sees himself winning the house cup and a great Quidditch player.
I hope that additional Hogwarts Castle centric sets continue the ability to combine with the set-up as a whole. Perhaps a set with the library or the Chamber itself. I really wish that they could get a Chamber of Secrets set perfected. We haven't had one of the Chamber since the original, and this version of the basilisk is...well, not quite what I had in mind. Maybe they should have left out the basilisk from this to add a little more detail to the main build, i.e. more banners, slightly deeper rooms, a larger dock.
I feel that the Basilisk should be its own set and you know bigger
I hope that they make a tri wizard tournament set, with the horntail. A greengotts bank would be cool too.

Hmm...if Lego is smart, theyll continue to make connectable sets to this like the original Hogwarts sets. Hopefully we'll see some reprises like the clock tower, or some new areas all together like the green house.

I'd love to see a new clock tower. The original clock tower set from 2004 was amazing and it'd be awesome to see what they do with it now.

Wow, I am so glad they brought back the theme. My biggest regret coming back to Lego as an adult was that I missed out on the original Harry Potter line. Fortunately Lego has evolved considerably and now the theme can be brought to bigger heights.
It's too bad they didn't use the space in the tower as efficiently as in the Whomping Willow's section of Hogwarts, but this is still a great set!
I'm really hoping we get a Chamber of Secrets set with a better Basilisk later on.

The first ever crimson color molded one piece Fawkes the Phoenix came in the Lego set called the "Chamber of Secrets", back in 2002 in set # 4730, this unique Lego has a bar that can be held by a mini figure in the clasp in his or her hand.

I am hoping that the technic holes on the other side of the great hall suggests the possibility of future waves for this theme and new section to add onto Hogwarts. It would be great to see another Hagrid's hut, the garden classrooms and maybe even the bathroom that leads down to the chamber of secrets.

Great review Jang! The mini figure selection is superb, love the hat and it's a great looking set with a good balance of play and displayability. I think the price on these sets has been great as they are licensed and that usually means unreasonable markup - just look at the Star Wars stuff. Will definitely be adding some of these to my collection (after the train)

They originally made Professor Quill as the first double sided head minifigure when the Harry Potter sets were using the generic yellow instead of tan colors.

Yes, it was. This version of the Basilisk is disappointing.
The basilisk is described in the book to be acid green with a red plume, but the movie made the basilisk grey.

to me, i don't think the set is worth it since it's $129 here so the PPP is terrible. but it does look like it'd be good for a big HP fan so hopefully my brother enjoys having it on his desk lol
One detail that you didn’t call out in the video that I absolutely loved was the grey nano figs used to represent statues in the little alcoves at the front end. This detail was so wonderful and unnecessary that when building it I had a huge smile on my face just thinking about the designers putting that into there.

personally I prefer the Hogwarts that was release during the last series, but I do like the figures that are included in this set, I think they are the only reason I would ever get this set other wise it's okay, nice to finely see representations for all four houses, instead of just the 2,.

They never showed the image with Ron, but Ron describes it in both the book and the film when he looks into the mirror.

This set is great but the tower should've been taller.
This is a great set. Absolutely brilliant. The interior is especially good, and is much better than some of the other interiors lego sets have. It's just great!
When they make sets for years 4-7, I want them to make an astronomy tower that can connect to this too
They left one side of the castle with nothing to connect to it and at the end of the whomping willow set they have extra holes, so they have room to add on, and LEGO already said that this year we were supposed to get another part that was moaning Myrtles bathroom,that had the chamber of secrets at the bottom, which they postponed this set till early next year, so LEGO is already planing other attachments

Lovely sets, all of them. The only thing I really think this set is missing is a Ravenclaw student, but we'll be able to get one in the CMF series at least.
Oh, and I would've loved to have seen a light brick used for the fireplace.
Only thing I do not like is the Basilisk, but guess they are not planning to do something separate which suit the Basilisk better.

I was hoping that this is a truly Great Hall . I personally don’t mind getting it even if it is design to be USC ver since this is like the main scene for every Harry Porter movie!!!. But for the current design, I’ll probably give it a pass and continue waiting for a UCS ver (finger cross)
