- Learn about the basics of Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) from two experts in the treatment of eating disorders: Michelle Jones, Ph.D and Jennifer Vittitow, RD, LD, CEDS-C. In this first session they’ll cover:
What ARFID is, including the various subtypes.
How ARFID differs from other eating disorders.
Information on the prevalence of ARFID.
Answering the question: What causes ARFID?
What treatment for ARFID typically looks like.
Created for individuals seeking a deeper understanding of what ARFID is, the best treatment approaches, and how to effectively support a loved one with ARFID - this series can be helpful for family/friends supporting a child/adolescent OR adult loved one. However, guidance for how to best support a loved one with ARFID will be more geared toward those caring for a child or adolescent recovering from ARFID.
