      This is glorious, I've been looking for "where do pacific white shrimp come from?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Eenva Harrowing Eradicator - (just google it ) ? It is a smashing exclusive product for discovering how to start a shrimp farming business without the hard work. Ive heard some incredible things about it and my mate got cool success with it.

    Like the knot for flow rate! Using a 50 cent flow valve works too:) Don't use your mouth to start a siphon...ever! Use a pipet or dedicated turkey baster. Fish T.B. is one if many great reasons.

    Got some questions though, if the shrimp are sensitive to temperature, will the warm water from the tank be enough to keep them from getting too cold? Also, if they are big shrimp (like the vampires I’m picking up today) will they be able to climb out??

    • @MarksShrimpTanks

    Hello Mark, thank you for this wonderful video, thanks to your advice, I started having shrimp trays. Previously, I had never dared to raise shrimp, now I have four shrimp aquariums. Your stuff has made life so much easier, that I think of leaving two more. In closing, I would like to know which company manufactures the bucket you use for the acclimation of your shrimp (transparent with graduations), because I have been looking for months without success. Thank you again for advising us in such a good way.

    • @louisbastien9311
      @louisbastien9311 5 лет назад

      Hello Mark, thanks for the answer. I was talking about the transparent bucket because I thought he was graduated. But in reality, I'm looking for a transparent bucket to put in my rack of aquariums (it is located in my living room), because for now I have only a red bucket very apparent. Finally, I'm looking for a transparent bucket, and I would like to have a jug of one liter graduated like the one you have, because I could put it inside the bucket when I do not use them. Thanks again !

    I didn't realize I needed to drip acclimate with the first couple of batches I got for my tank. They'd do ok for a few days and then one by one start to go. I got some tubing to do this now and have some on the way, I hope it does the trick. I figured if they were dying slowly like this it had to be my parameters, but they're perfect.

    I use the tied knot air tube method myself Mark, and it hasn't failed yet. Lovely blue tigers Mark, I've got a platoon of dark blue neo shrimp and I don't think I'll ever get tired of watching those guys. I hope your tigers are hardy specimens, my strain of blues are quite fragile.
    Mark I need to introduce some measure of flow to my crystal tank, I have some small internal filters and I was planning on making one shrimp safe and positioning it in the tank to get some water movement but not sure if that method is going to be too much. The water is very still and I think keeping the water moving would help a lot. Any thoughts?

    • @MarksShrimpTanks
      @MarksShrimpTanks  7 лет назад +1

      Feed some type of powdered food so you can see the flow in the water column ,I always look for about 1cm per second flow.

    • @Quint1975
      @Quint1975 7 лет назад

      Marks Shrimp Tanks haha that's why we get on.. OK, the only movement in the tank is being generated by the sponge. Two thirds of the tank is almost standstill, so thinking cap on. I see you put 90 or 45 degree bends on your sponge filter plastic tubing at the top, that might just be enough to generate movement.

    I know its the best method to drip them but is it ok if I just let them float for about 30-40 minutes?? Just purchased some blue velvet and RCS and it's like 12 PM where I live so I dont have a lot of time on my hands..

    Hi Mark, I’m wanting to move my cherry shrimp from a heated tank to a non heated tank but it’s a 10 degree difference. Is that ok to put them in? The non heated tank is about 68F... I’m new with shrimp & im afraid to move them.

    • @MarksShrimpTanks
      @MarksShrimpTanks  5 лет назад

      Just drip acclimate them and they will be ok , do it for as long as you have time for and it will be better for them.

      Ok, I’ll do a 24 hour drip acclimation then. Normally I do a 4 hour one. I’m waiting for my new tank to cycle & load up with biofilm yet but when it’s ready I’ll do a very slow, 24 hr drip acclimation. Thank you so much for a response back. I really appreciate it! 😊💖🦐🌱🐾☀️.... Just wondering but will my cherries still breed at 68F? I’m wanting to get a good, little colony of them.

      @@MarksShrimpTanks cherry shrimp could survive in it. People in the netherlands sometimes use them in ponds. They will even survive below 10°c because the temps drop slowly.
      Thats why i asked on what would be the best way to acclimate them.
      Might even go for 4 hours drip acclimating

    What if I ordered shrimp online and drip acclimate is it still a good idea to pour the water I got with the shrimp into my tank? Or is it better to drip acclimate the shrimp and net them out of the bucket?

    • @MarksShrimpTanks

      I normally do the drip thing twice but the best way is to use a net like you say :)

    This is great video. How do you keep the bucket warm for an hour and half, if you have a coldish room. I found the bucket temperature water will be cooler than your tank. Wouldn't that provide a temp shock for the shrimp when you put it back in?

    • @MarksShrimpTanks
      @MarksShrimpTanks  7 лет назад

      My room is heated so I dont have to worry about that but what I always do anyway is float the jug in the tank if there is a big difference in temperature.
