  • In this tutorial I will show the how to create an cool alien jellyfish animation from scratch. We'll cover everything from modeling, rigging, animation, lighting, materials and textures, and compositing in After Effects. We'll use Octane Render to create some nice subsurface scattering / translucent looking materials and use After Effects to create some very organic looking animated textures.

    A) for people working in R20 with the new fields system, add a linear field to the falloff section, then add a curve on top of the linear. Then you can modify the curve spline to fit the shape in the tutorial, and add the jiggle in afterwards.
    B) at 14:00, instead of manually entering each keyframe, go to the timeline window > functions > track after > offset repeat after, and it will automatically plot the key path for you

      And if you're noticing that the cloned spheres don't stick to the hair and instead slides around, try putting the hair object above the cloner in the object manager hierarchy. No idea why this works, but it does for me.

      Hey, what do you mean by "add a curve on top of the linear?" Thanks!!

    Hey! Thank you very much from this tutorial!! But I have a question. How do I do work jiggle in C4D R21? The animation doesn't start automatically. Thanks

      You need to add a linear field to the falloff section, then add a curve on top of the linear. Then you can modify the curve spline to fit the shape in the tutorial, and add the jiggle in afterwards.

    Hi, I have a very rare question, How do I make the bioluminescent effect on an ARNOLD material? I have tried everything and there is nothing to do.

    • @jiro4559
      @jiro4559 4 года назад

      maybe you need to add it during the compositing stage?

    • @rubysnell6755
      @rubysnell6755 2 года назад +1

      hey, I know this is very late but you can import the bioluminescence in as a file node, as an image sequence, and then plug the file out colour into the emission of an ai standard surface shader

    Great tutorial, i only follow the beginning since i don't have octave, but i have a problem. when i set the hair to generate to spline, i can at the spheres to the end (99% offset), but when i run the animation or render a image i don't see the hairs anymore only the spheres at the end so it looks weird. if i use none or circle i see the hairs, but can't set the amount of spheres and put them at the end.
    is there something i missed?

    wish i could watch this but your microphone gain is so high that i can hear every mouse click and every muscle in the back of your throat moving when you talk. its just too infuriating.
