  • "Viva la Quinta Brigada" (Long Live the 15th Brigade) is an Irish drinking song originally by Christy Moore about the Irishmen who fought for the Republic during the Spanish Civil War as part of the XV International Brigades.

The song is about the Irish socialist volunteers, who were a small contingent within the 15th International Brigade, and who in later years became known as the Connolly Column, named in honor of the Irish socialist martyr James Connolly. Technically, the name of the song is a spelling mistake, as "Quinta" refers to the 5th brigade - the correct and later name of the song is "Viva la Quince Brigada".
The song should not be confused with the Pete Seeger song of the same name, which was an English-language version of the Spanish folk song "Ay Carmela".
