Can someone comment this on the FTC, I can't figure out how plus edit it out if it's to vague or the grammars bad or if you have something to add.
To FTC,
First point, it's not RUclips's fault that children is on their site, it's the parents. RUclips has a separate platform called RUclips kids and also guidelines that you must be 13 and above. If people don't want their data stolen then you should stay out of the internet. The same way in the real world, if you don't want your child to die from a car accident, then don't let them buy or drive a car. But the COPPA rule in this situation mentioned is basically telling companies to not manufacture cars. Thus destroying other peoples lives who does use it properly.
Second point, uploading videos on RUclips is not commonly a job. Content creators are not employees. The COPPA rule is directed at people that is not the cause of the problem. The rule is destroying the wrong people. The rule states that you will be fined a maximum of 42 000 dollars. If a kid content creator is on RUclips, do you think they'll be able to pay for it? Do you think kids/people are uploading content because they want their viewers information? No, of course not, they are doing it because they are "content creators" not "personal information stealer".
Third point, there are two types of people. Those who speak to express themselves and those who want to make money. The COPPA rule is destroying both parties. The FTC is not the one to decide which one is which because clearly you people are inexperience with the internet and hiring people is even worse because you are paying people who doesn't have any consequences if they choose to pick the wrong channels on RUclips to get censored.
Fourth point, directed advertisement isn't bad. Advertisement isn't bad. TV has advertisement, does that mean you are going to sensor the TV as well? Directed advertisement helps kids because it stops the system from showing mature advertisement to kids. The same way different programs on a TV has different advertisement; how cartoon programs has ads on toys and mature programs has ads on adult paraphernalias.
Proposing a solution,
COPPA rule was a mistake because it is meant to stitch peoples mouth because there is a "possibility" of them stealing your information. If you truly want children to stay safe online, then set up programs that will educate the kids and their parents. Other solution is censoring the watcher rather than the creator if they are a child. Censorship isn't always the solution because COPPA censors both the good and the bad people.

The content that is demonetized is not inappropriate. It is just content that is not great for advertisers. RUclips didn't care who watched it before, it's just it gets demonetized because advertisers didn't think the content was right for their ads. The words Inappropriate and Demonetized can be misunderstood. Yes, things can be inappropriate in something like Work or School as those are places to Learn and Work.

They do. RUclips is forced to put out these rules otherwise they will be sued out of existence. While they don’t do it perfectly, with the way current copyright rules work, they have to do it this way. Just be happy RUclips implements this the best out of any other streaming service. Look at twitch for example, there DMCA policy is so much worse than RUclips and highlights how much RUclips actually tries to care about it’s creators.

I was a. kid when I watched stampy 6 to 7 years ago for the first time. I can say that I think that all the people who originally watched him are teens or adults and its stupid to suggest that the stampy now is the same as the one 6 years ago.

It's because other RUclipsrs Work really hard for Couple years, and me I work for 4 years, and The Subscribers they got, and RUclips wanted them to make kid friendly, but ended up changing the rules to not make Kid friendly
YT kids doesn't add most youtubers that kids usually watch, and they don't have a proper upload schedule.

This thing that RUclips is doing, it's defentally affecting me, I've already had 3 people I've subscribed to quit. I'm worried about this mess that RUclips is doing. To be honest, YT needs to leave the parenting to the parents. I fully agree with everything you said in the video, though I do have an opinion on one of the topics you talked about: "YT should give us a warning before fineing us" yes, I agree with that in some cases, yes it would be better if they have us a warning, but I do somewhat feel like YT will try to say: "The warning for everyone is other people getting fined" and in this case, I agree with both of you. To be honest, I feel like RUclips is just doing everything it can to make people quit. I have a lot more opinions but I won't bore you with all of them. I agree with you, and if it does come down to you leaving YT, maybe you can move to some other platform like YT. I hope RUclips will realize they are being idiots with this mess. STAMPY, A very important UPDATE and a COPPA WORKAROUND. I'm starting to see that these kids vs adults videos is confusing the machine learning systems. The Thomas toy train adult buyers guide I did was set as my to be adult, but RUclips flipped it to restricted ad's kids video. I now see RUclips has flipped it back to being an adult video. I am getting screenshots of this, so it may look like there are ways of presenting toys and still remain an adult set video. It's all in the core context of the video. Make a toy, game or anime video in the right context and it will be an adult video on RUclips. Sad so much fear mongering is going on it's destroying the confidence of creators.

Everybody sign that petition! Thanks for putting your feet in stamps you’re a powerful asset and an inspiration. It’s clear that going forward with this will only result in kids using parents accounts etc and inevitably exposing young people to potentially harmful content I feel at least this is a classic example of the older generation miss understanding how a modern platform works and functions. This is financially and arguably more importantly, creatively damaging for this entire platform not just for RUclips but for all video streaming/creating sites.

He still gets ad revenue on his videos. He could be doing the videos for fun and not upload as much anymore, but he still has viewers watching his videos which helps him earn money. For example, Leafyishere stopped uploading on RUclips period, but he’s still making money from RUclips because people still watch his older videos.

I never, ever comment. Not due to a lack of enthusiasm or passion for whatever I may be commenting on, but because I find it rather unlikely that the person I’m attempting to speak to will reply. I once and for all decided to comment because the COPPA ruling will make me unable to do so in the future.
Regardless, I wanted you to know how much I love your videos! I started watching you when I was six and I am now thirteen. I used to watch you constantly (I would now if it weren’t for a lack of time) and I would be so delighted everyday when you posted a video. I honestly feel like I would not be so interested in creative endeavors if it weren’t for you. I also think that you were such a fantastic role model for me, and I appreciate that so very much.
I would like to conclude by thanking you for all the wonderful ways you have amused me through the years, and I hope it will continue for a great deal more time.

I think that it’s ridiculous. The parents have no control in it. The parents should be able to change the settings on what the kids can see, like you said Stampy. If the parents don’t want them to see comments then fine but if they don’t mind then they should be able to say that it’s alright for them to see them then they should be able to toggle them on.
There should be a mode (like the incognito mode that we currently have) or just some way of parent managing what happens with their kids. They should make it so that parents are able to see their subscriptions and toggle them on or off depending if they want their kids to watch them. I really think parent should have some control rather than people sugarcoating everything and removing all the stuff whether they want them to or not.

The no swearing rule could be considered for adults and not just for kids because its not just kids who find swearing offensive
I’ve watched RUclips since I was 6, my parents were always fine, and just monitored what I watched! It takes 4 minutes for people to monitor what there kids are watching.
The crazy thing is just how much this will effect the entire platform! From actual content creators of child friendly videos to people who aren’t even focused towards children (Pewdiepie, Craft RUclipsrs ect)

Stamps, you have played such a big role in making my life more positive. When I was 7-8 I remember being so excited to watch your vids when I got home from school (I am now 13).
I feel like the accounts should be affected more than the videos, maybe something like a "This account lets a child use it." checkbox, and then for videos the creator marks it like you would a movie, Family Friendly, PG-13, R Rated, etc. And when an account that lets a child use it clicks on a "R Rated" video, the person has to enter a pin number or password that only the adult knows so that the kid cannot watch it (This would be tedious but safe). But the FTC is more concerned about Ads, so maybe every time you open RUclips you have to sign in, and then you mark if you are a child or not so it'll disable personalized Ads. This is all just something I came up with while typing so please reply to this if you have any ideas or things that should be changed with this idea. Thank you!
a fix:just make it so ppl without a youtube account and kids dont get directed ads,not fully block it from everyone

Why are you praying? It's not hurting anyone, people will just have to change the style of content they make or find alternate careers
@@SketchyTigers no it is hurting RUclips and its community, children will just watch inappropriate videos, some people who needs RUclips to make money, RUclips makes 40% of all videos and will see mass migrations. people who think this is harmless are worse then the trolls that started flat earthers and antivaxxers that ruined peoples lives. Next time when you want comment actually research the subject first and think before you comment.
