What is strange is 2019 when Bellinger won, Yelich had better stats than the year before when he did win. But I giess missing 26 games at the end took it away.( foul ball off the knee cap will do it)
Great video, those top 4 were all amazing. You could shuffle the top 4 around randomly and it would be hard to argue with the results. On the opposite side of things, worst MVP's I've seen have to go to Kirk Gibson and Terry Pendelton. Keep up the great work!
I totally get that. But when you have a guy making 23 starts with an ERA close to 3 while hitting 45 bombs, hard to beat even with Judge's historic season
I can bet anything if Ohtani had a true two way in 2022 instead of 2021 he would’ve won. No matter how much Judge did offensively he can’t beat player that’s has a 172 era+ 166 innings and 144ops+ I can’t fathom losing with that
For me I would move 2021 Ohtani to 4th, Betts 2018 to 3rd, and Judge 2022 to 2nd, and Acuna 2023 to 5th. Ohtani was great in 2021, and deserved the MVP. But Judge in 2022 was one of, if not the greatest offensive season post-integration (outside of the steroid era). I'd take that over 2021 Ohtani, barely. Ditto for 2018 Betts, who despite only playing 136 games put up 10.7 WAR. If he plays 150, he likely ends up around 11.5-11.7 WAR, which is Barry Bonds territory. The most underrated power-speed-defense season of all time. As for Acuna, he had more steals, but his defense was not great. Give me Betts any day.
@@DarkSideMaceWindu War isn't a end all of baseball, especially in context with Ohtani (since he's pitching he really shouldn't be getting negative defensive value) If you know ball it's easy to understand
I can tell Aaron Judge this will not only win MVP but I have a feeling that he will also win comeback player of the year since he had a big slump last year but the AL mvp race is a slug fest
I was expecting Judge to be first since he put up over 11 WAR for the first time since Bonds, but you are using bWAR. Ohtani's 2023 is probably the best example of an unreplicable season, so I don't mind Judge being 3rd, I do think Mookie's 2018 is better than Acuna's 2023 because Acuna's was pretty mediocre in right where as Mookie was the best right fielder, still I get why Acuna's 4th.
Betts 2018 5 is insane
Who are you putting him over?
@@joserb-zs1vd Acuna easy, and honestly he can possibly go over 2021 ohtani
1. Judge 2022
2. Ohtani 2023
3. Betts 2018
4. Acuna 2023
5. Trout 2010
6. Ohtani 2021
7. Bellinger 2018
8. Yelich 2019
9. Goldschmidt 2022
10. Harper 2021
I'm so confused as to why acuna is ahead of betts
Because the 70 stolen bases is getting over glorified in the context of everything else.

Bellinger was the far better defender of the two
Do the same for the last 10 Cy young winners
Next week thats coming
@homerunproductions162 sounds great, can't wait
I think this list would make more sense
1: Judge 2022
2: Ohtani 2023
3: Betts 2018
4: Trout 2019
5: Ohtani 2021
6: Acuna 2023
7: Bellinger 2019
8: Yelich 2018
9: Goldschmidt 2022
10: Harper 2021
@@ToonTwist way better list maybe Trout is a bit too high
@@yeshayagreenstone5045 I thought that to but I don’t think Ohtanis 2021 is better so Trout is kind of stuck there.
@@ToonTwist fair enough

Came from airtime thrills!
Judges 2022 season is better than either of ohtanis mvp seasons. Ohtanis 2022 was better than 2021 and he didnt stand a chance against judge.
That’s what I was gonna say

I would put judge over 2021 Ohtani personally
Ohtani’s hadn’t been done before.
Judge 22 at third is diabolical
Judge 2022 gotta be first
Mookie should be number 1
For me I would move 2021 Ohtani to 4th, Betts 2018 to 3rd, and Judge 2022 to 2nd, and Acuna 2023 to 5th.

Judge is bye far number 1
when aaron judge becomes a pitcher too then i'll take the fanboys seriously. ohtani #1
Judge had a higher WAR than both of Othani's seasons despite the pitching aspect. You're the one fan boying ignoring facts.

What universe you living in where a 1.019 OPS season is a big slump?

Betts > Acuna
True dat
Judge 3? Get out of here. I can listen to 2 but NOT 3.
the last 10 mvps by the numbers?

Bro has ohtanis balls in his mouth bro that ranking was terrible
calm down
Judge better than 21 Ohtani
I’m sorry Judge is number 1 better than both ohtani mvps
Offensively yeah but 23 starts and a low 3 ERA is really valuable to the team
I do think judge should be second and ohtani 2021 should be 3rd
Judge should def be first he was breaking records man
Nah
@BaseballBlast3And ohtani wasn't?
First?
