To be honest I don’t know either. It’s strange! We have tons of farm fields around so I think the deer find plenty of food elsewhere. Also our neighbor hood is pretty active so the deer may be too afraid to come. I always think one day I could wake up to them all eaten 🤷🏼♀️
Lol..well I'm glad you don't have that problem! I am adding more brunnera and less hosta...they seem to leave the brunnera alone. Keep up the awesome job on your videos🥰
I have a big deer problem and read that the Heucherella Hopscotch was one the deer don't like. Well......before I knew that, I found several on clearance at Lowes last year. I think $5 each if I remember correctly. OMG! They are fabulous. I hope I'm not jinxing myself, but the deer have eaten all the others and haven't touched these. I'm a big fan! That color is amazing and looks really good with color of brick on my house. Wish I had bought more. since I haven't seen them in any of my garden centers this year. I heard another youtuber say Red Rover was his favorite, so I may have to look for some of those too!
Gorgeous 😍 Thanks for the tip to place light colored rocks around dark plants. I have the dark purple coral bells and black mulch so it's difficult to see. ❤ Totally doing that this weekend.
I have an announcement to make , I found and bought a “Autumn Frost “ Hosta , I was over the moon happy when I saw it in the garden center, enjoy your weekend
So thankful you showed us around today. My girls will say “mom have you seen if Jes has a new movie” my daughter’s favorite was Nate making you the bridge. Eleanor loved it. 🥰🥰🥰
Such a great garden tour around your home. You are so knowledgeable about gardening. Your vision of how you want your gardens to look is amazing. I always look forward to your next movie. Hope you, Nate and Max have a blessed weekend. God bless and take care. Cookie in Mandeville Louisiana
Hi Jes, Just finding your channel and your yard and landscape are beautiful! What a wonderful space you have to work with! That blue spruce(?) by your front entry is incredible and I'm so impressed you can remember the name of your hostas!
Your sticky plant is known is known as 'Cleavers' or 'Goosegrass' in the U.K. It's a U.K. native, so I'm not sure how it ended up in Michigan! It's a pain, but easily eradicated. In the First World War British schoolchildren were instructed to pick it, as it can be made into ersatz coffee!
I call that weed Velcro weed but it’s called Cleaver, among other names. It’s the worst! But it does come up easy thankfully. Worst weed to date has been goat heats 😭 Thankfully we moved and don’t seem to have any here 🙌🏼🤞🏼
Such a fun garden tour ❤ thanks Jes, for taking us along. Everything is coming in and getting so big. Love them all. Your gardens look so beautiful 😊❤ loved hanging out with you as always. 😊❤ until next time God's blessings 😊 love ya ❤
The weed is catch weed or bedstraw, I had to look it up it’s everywhere in my garden and I mean everywhere! I’m trying to pull it before it flowers because I absolutely don’t want any more of that spreading. 💐💚🙃
Hi Jes. Yes, we have that weed in northeast Ohio. I’m not sure of its proper name but we call it ‘Velcro weed’. I’m glad it does pull up easy but it’s annoying. Everything looks really good 🌿
pretty plants, those are called cleavers, and hosta is a salad for deer so maybe that one was sweet to a deer? we have a ton of deer in our yard due to the development where there were alot of woods and pushed into our yards here, they eat the flowers off my red twig dogwood, and I heard lillies are edible to them so I will be having to protect my lilies when they bloom. that would be heat pump, we have them here and they are the worst choice for heating and cooling, they break down in less than 10 years and cost us a fortune to fix up twice, and it is only a 15 year old system, we put in more than what we paid for it initially.
I incubate segments of Creeping Jenny to add to pots. I shove shive a stem in pots dirt and keep it watered and eventually it will thicken up. Then add to pots or put in the ground. Saves me $ on buying it. 😊 By mid Summer your gardens will be full and beautiful. Too bad we live on a cold area and they can't be all year.
Hi Jes,my goodness what a wonderful tour of your gardens they are beautiful, I love all the different color and texture of the hosta's and corolbells I love how the trees look whimsical.God bless 🕊️💚🇺🇲
The gardens surrounding your house are glorious! New and fresh spring growth with promise of flowers soon to appear. What a fabulous accomplishment you have created. May I sugges for the mailbox plot that you plant white begonias with the red begonias.
It looks like the sticky weed is Cleavers or Gooseweed it can be used for food, apparently it was a useful plant in the medieval kitchens. I’m not suggesting anyone eat it without research. lol. Love your channel Jes!
I'm in UK my garden has lots of the sticky weed - it usually just appears in my fuschia hedge but this year it's everywhere - it's easy to pull out but crikey it gets everywhere 🙄🌿
Thanks for your lunch break tour! Your gardens look beautiful and you should be very proud of yourself for all you have done to make your home welcoming and lovely landscaping all around your yard!
Im jealous my blue annual salvia did not return . Your use of heucheras and hosta just amazing plus those birch trees love their trunks . You are a natural for design . Appreciate you taking your lunch to share how everything is popping . Love it!

Oh that’s interesting thanks for sharing!!
Yes I have that weed. You are right it sticks to anything. And comes back every year. If you find a way to get it not to grow please let us know.
That's great
I'm your new subscribe 😊
Love your yellow shirt.
Jes, considering doing a plant live stream for viewers to interact with you and others.
Goose weed. Known by many names. Galium aparine. Pretty aggressive if u let them go to seed just like the bitter crest
You're garden is so beautiful girl..
Hi, Jes! ❤ How long have you been working on your garden to achieve the way it is now? It looks like the garden of my dreams 😊
Well since we bought out land and built our house so going on 8 years! :)
I call that weed Velcro weed but it’s called Cleaver, among other names. It’s the worst! But it does come up easy thankfully. Worst weed to date has been goat heats 😭 Thankfully we moved and don’t seem to have any here 🙌🏼🤞🏼
Amend to your comment that no flier is insignificant. Frustrating when people cut off blooms in plants like hostas and huechra

Is your job in HR? I heard you say that you had a job interview to do; I’m also a plant lover and work in Human Resources.
I call that the Sticky weed ! lol......and I hate it ! lol
Sticky weed aka Velcro Weed, Sticky Willy, or Bedstraw. Botanical name Galium aparine.
Your garden is so beautiful, loving how colorful and bright it is.
The sticky weed is cleavers
I wish it wouldn’t stick to everything trying your best to get rid of it.
Beautiful garden! Do you have milkweed for monarch’s caterpillars/butterflies?
