I have had the contour for about 6 or 7 years i think (a long time) it’s nice, I don’t dislike it, but I HATE folding my cash into quarters to get it to fit into the wallet. I also was not a fan of the lack of protection for my cards, it kept breaking them apart.. i bought a dango wallet with the pocket clip to use as a money clip in the wallet, we will see how it goes
If you made one without that metal loop and bottle opener, I would get one because I have several cards and carry cash but don't want anything in my pocket I don't need and that added metal on the end is not needed for me.
I have one. Had it for 3yrs. Have on me everyday. It is a great wallet it’s so durable. I get so many compliments on it. It’s truly a great wallet that will last you a lifetime.
Good reviews but worth looking into RFID as you’ve not understood it. The chip, in the centre of the card not the pin chip, has an aerial that runs around the inside of the card and the RFID signal protrudes from the bottom left corner. The Trayvax wallets have a metal plate that covers the top left and bottom right corners which is the RFID blocker.
I 've had the Element for 3 years. Upgraded to the Contour 2 years ago. When Covid 19 hit I went back to the Element to carry a folded PPE mask. It works great. Good protection for the mask too. I stash the mask between two Cards in the ID window side. Now I'm prepared every time I go out.
Your review is what tipped me towards the element. I was on the fence between this and the ascent. The way the cash is hidden and the strap that holds the cards in place is what made up my mind. Great review. Thank you
Yay!... finally get to see your Trayvax review😀 As I think you know I'm that guy that keeps pestering you about Trayvax and I carry the Contour which I absolutely am in love with! I'm glad you like it and are using the Element. I would say if people find the Element a little thick the Contour I use it's much thinner even with the 10 cards I carry in it and some cash in strap on the back... and wear unnoticeably in front jean pocket beside my pocket knife with room to spare! If people find the Contour a little pricey there are several more models of Trayvax wallets like the Ascent, Axis and some others that are super slim like the Summit and Armoured Summit and a lot better priced then their top of line Contour (however with their quality materials and workmanship they are all top of the line!) They also will say in the box who hand made your wallet (I believe mine was made by Kitana.. wondering who made your Element?) Last but not least I might pick up a Summit Notebook (wallet, space pen and write in rain note pad... looks soo cool!) Thanks for the great review and keep them up! I look forward to the next😀
jon mcgaw This definitely won’t be my last Trayvax review. I really dig this Element. Did you see Trayvax is making a titanium Contour? I saw the Kickstarter the day after they posted it. When I checked out the campaign it was already sold out. Only 100 made at 200 bucks a pop. Wow!!
@@ChrispyThings Oh wow! I did not!... I guess I missed out on that. But at least now I'll be able to store a little more cash in my regular Contour... cause if its sold out I guess I wont go broke lol Glad to hear it won't be your last... as I said before their wallets will last you for life unless you just want another one! I think I'm gonna get the Summit Note (a little thicker like a tri-fold. But with a notepad, Fisher space pen and Summit wallet it's a great package!
jon mcgaw Absolutely! And regarding that notebook, I had that on my radar too. It would be perfect for my day job. I love the idea of the own writing underwater!
@@ChrispyThings Same here with my day job. Well good sir... I look forward to your next review. You said you do a tech one on a different day? I do not see those coming up on my subscribed list. But I will look for them under Chrispy Things
Just bought my trayvax axis wallet thanks to your reviews as was going to get dango before that. I am in UK so limited availability on both but saved 100 by going for that wallet. Love the channel your reviews are 👍 👌
I have several different minimalist card holder type wallets from Ridge and other Ridge-like wallets and several different Trayvax wallets. By far my favorite wallet of them all is the Trayvax Element. Excellent design and quality. I've recently gone back to it after trying out my other wallets and feel like I wasted money on the others because the Element is the only one that I really love to carry. The ease of use when removing cards and the fact that I can carry some cash but still keep it secure and out of sight is what keeps it in my pocket over all the others.
I subscribed to your channel and I've ordered the Trayvax Ascent, The 2.0 , and The Element. Very informative and Trayvax should give you the 10% savings in the future!
I've been using this wallet for several years now. They've changed the design slightly since I got mine but the rivet's still in the same spot, which is important. If you have a chip under that rivet on the top card, it will be damaged over time from the pressure being applied to it. I keep all mine on the rivet side but I keep my driver's license in front so none of my cards' chips are affected.
mines in Mississippi mud love it. got the titanium Caribbeaner and leash. only complaint I've had mine since launch, the closing strap comes loose all the time now. 😮
@ Chrispy Things Great review Mr. Things. So I guess the best thing to do is to soak it with the minimum amount of cards(3) to make it thin at first. My question for you though is is it difficult to add more after the initial fitting? Say at one point after that you don't need that many cards at that moment.........will the reduced amount of card feel loose in the wallet?
Patrick Sison It’s very difficult. Before you soak make sure that’s the number of cards you’ll keep at all times. If you take a card away it’ll be very loose because it’s already molded to the number of cards you had in there.
Trayvax is outstanding I’m from the uk and we have nothing like this that will touch these wallets I have bought two elements in Mississippi mud and just ordered a contour in the same fantastic Quality and the company even though I am not American knowing I have a handmade wallet in my back pocket which says made in the USA puts a big old smile on my face court recommend these wallets enough
Was very intrigued by the line of minimalist wallets. To get one of the Element wallets to your door in Canada will run you $125 Canadian. When trying to order on the website I was offered the option to have custom engraving done on the leather for an extra $7USD. Being a fan of the old Pulp Fiction movie I naturally wanted a “Bad Motherf***er” to replace my old outdated leather folder version. After my order was placed I received an email stating that my order could not be completed due to the profanity I requested. I feel for $125 I should be able to have gold dongs stamped all over it if I should so desire. I’m morally opposed to censorship and feel I should be able to write whatever I want on a personal item that goes in MY pocket. Sadly my own moral standards will not allow own one of these expensive little hunks of cheap metal and leather. Congratulations to Tipper Gore’s family for having a business so lucrative they can turn a prospective customers hard earned money away on something so trivial.
I don't carry credit cards or bank cards just cash, license, insurance and conceal carry permit. This might work good. I carry about $100+ cash with me at all times. My worries would be cash capacity.
Since this video I’m I’ve received the discount. I even put my code they gave me in the description box. But before I made this video I couldn’t get the discount. Lol
I have owned one for 2 years now. Excellent Quality. Can be uncomfortable if carried in back pocket. The strap holds very well to the button. However the strap becomes kind of annoying.
As cool as this looks, I'm struggling to see any advantage over a slim leather RFID wallet, of which there are many. This also seems a bit more fiddly to use with cash.
I read problem with Ridge is cards getting scratched according to customer reviews. Do cards get scratched in other two? You don't address this subject.
Anytime, you have cards rubbing against each other you run the risk of scratching. It’s a lot better if you have all flat cards, nothing with raised numbers on them. Raised number credit cards are almost obsolete at this point anyway.
Patrick Sison Good question! Before I review them I like to carry them for a little bit. I went from The Ridge, to the Element. Then the Dango M1 Spec Ops and now to the Trayvax Contour as my edc. That video is coming up soon but the Contour blew me away the second I layed eyes on it.
Dude, do some research on how RFID actually works and what are the chips on the cards for before you share any information ;) No one is interested on stealing your data over RFID while your cards are in your pocket/wallet. Otherwise a good review. I own the same one. This is how we from EU support US workers ;)
www.myidcare.com/articles/single/rfid-skimming-is-the-danger-real So you’ve never heard of skimming from a few feet away? This is why RFID protection exists in wallets. I’ve done my research I assure you. Thanks for your comment
@@ChrispyThings The chip you're pointing out in your video is an EMV chip which doesn't have an RFID transmitter or RFID support of any kind. 99.9% of credit or debit cards have no support for RFID or Near Field technology. Now passports on the other hand... Thanks for the video, I am researching the element and your video was very helpful.

That button is more like a light friction-lock intent to it. Kinda nifty and interesting hybrid solution.
The metal ridge is just to be able to get a good grip on the wallet.

Chris O. This has better cash capacity than most minimalist wallets because of the fold over flap. Question, do you carry 100 all in 20s, 10s?
I've just bought the Element Wallet. And I asked for 10% off, since it's my first wallet I bought from them, and... They gave me 10% off! 😁

cesar delgado Maybe Eva use of the metal frame. I wouldn’t put anything metal in the same pocket as your phone.
You need the Trayvax ascent. Problem solved. Good review
ryan lavallee Thanks!
The ascent is awesome!
The ascent is awesome however it hold less cards 7 total
Ascent is the best!

If you go with the element, you are getting it because of style, I’ve functionality. The Ascent would be for function
I just ordered it. Hope I like it. Very masculine wallet.
Do you know for sure if this is rfid safe. Because the contour isnt
