I've been going to Jamaica since 1990 and have been allover Montego Bay, Negril, Ocho Rios. You get what you pay for. If you're going on the cheap expect no hot water, bugs, bad lighting, poor service, mediocre food, especially bad buffets, uncomfortable beach chairs and a scarcity of beach towels. And some don't have air-conditioning and we go in winter and fall and need air. Some of the larger ones pester you constantly for time shares.
@@moelizabeth1793 Cons = The buffet is pretty bad, except the down to order cooking cooking stations, bad service, unfriendly waitresses (prepare to get your own coffee and cutlery sometimes) concreate jungle, so not much nature, they don't give you bottles of water anymore, the rooms are average or a little below average, lots of weeds! so it's difficult to swim in the Sea, music didn't work due to speakers being broken at the swim up bar and jerk hut. Best seats on the beach get taken early by people that put towels on them in the morning then go back to sleep. Can't smoke ganja anywhere except for the designated smoking area close to lobby. (a pro for some) Pros = Long stretch of beach, nice private beach on little island you can walk to, Jerk hut is tasty, ala carte's are pretty decent, the staff and people are friendly, great ganja supplied by men on boats that come by the shore, nice drinks, not many bugs, breakfast is pretty good, beautiful views if you get a Ocean view room, close to the airport. Kid friendly with adult side. Free Snorkeling and kayaking. Budget friendly, Japanese ala carte is extra free, the wine is budge and watery, but they have a premium wine menu at extra cost. Older resort so it's pretty run down. I hope this was helpful. The resort is still pretty decent for the price. I would go back because I still love it there lol it has character.
