I'm cackling at the "you didn't drown" poster LOL CONGRATS ON FINISHING!!! 🥳 OKAY, interrobangs I thought were the ? and ! _combined_ as in "‽" which is objectively horrible. But if you have a bit of dialogue ending with "?!" I think that's fine if it fits your writing voice, the character saying the bit of dialogue, and as long as it's not overused. I don't see it often in books and when I do it's maybe once or twice in the whole thing. It feels kind of like using all caps when a character is shouting. Overdoing it almost lessens the impact, you know? You know?!
Congratulations! am always in awe of your energy and stamina. And I can so relate to not wanting to mess up the already 'perfect' draft that you're querying - but the only rule is do it if it makes the book better. Creating a copy of my 'good' draft and using that one to make any changes I want is the only way I'm able to feel like the stakes are low, reminding myself that I don't have to keep it if I don't want to. So admittedly I've never seen an interrobang in any book I've read(although that might mean I'm reading all the wrong books!?). But that doesn't mean the world doesn't need more of them, lol!
