OMG! I've had my 2x12 combo about 1 1/2 years now.It still amazes me when I plug into this amp.The sounds are endless clean to dirty blues, surf,it does it all. .It's like goin from cassette to CD,it is like you can hear my fingerprints . Great great amp $1,600.00 was well spent, top quality all the way.Single coil or Humbuckers .
I just bought a used TA 30 combo, and I have to say i,m really impressed with it......it's a cross between modern and vintage and it works really well. Its not to heavy and plenty loud enough. The clean sound is probably the best Ive had in a boogie, and this is my 10th.............keep rocking Mesa............
I own 4 Mesa Boogies. The TA-30 was my first I bought back in 2011 (?) and I still use it to this day...its basically a Vox AC-30 on steroids! Top boost on channel one is the setting I use most! My other Mesas are California Tweed, Mark 5/25, and Rosette. All are exceptional. :)
I've had this amp for about 8 years now. I love this thing to death. It takes pedals very well and seems to be able to do what I ask it to, besides high gain metal (which it is not intended for). Its a great head and I cannot recommend it enough. Well done Mesa! -Luis
This is one of the greatest "platform amp" that deserves more popularity. I run the normal clean channel all the time, and with the help of a few pedals, this amp can play basically anything, even modern progressive metal. I use the mini recto 1x12 to achieve a tighter clean tone as well as to accommodate for the high gain metal tone. Used it since 2012 and I love it!
LOVE THIS! Have the sim version through Amplitube and it's my fav setting on there! Tring to find one of these to use live! - Thanks for the video (11 years later)
I also found out about the TransAtlantic in Amplitube. I've been playing about with it recently and really impressed with how it sounds. Thought I'd do a bit of research about the amp and it's a shame to see it's discontinued. Seems to be quite an expensive amp so a bit out of my price range atm even second hand but maybe one day... I've never actually owned a tube amp so Amplitube is great to get some experience in how they sound & respond before I do get the real thing. Probably gonna get a PRS MT15 I reckon as they are ridiculously good value and can do the metal stuff that I like too but there's no doubt this TransAtlantic sounds beautiful and could cover a huge amount of different styles.
Got to agree, that outro tone and feel from the guitarist/amp is top class. Getting tired of rectoverb combo weight, though i can't do without the tone. Love your amps guys. From OZ
Nicely done demo. That amp sounds really good, has a lot of variable tones. Sounds very AC30-ish to me. I may be more of a Triple rec guy. Have always loved Mesa amps. Quality that's hard to beat and a lot of great tones. I have an '81 MKIIB SimulClass that I really like. Thanks for the great demo!!
Breathtaking tone! The Channel 1 is really as good as a vintage AC 30 that used to be made in England and now its that MDF Cabinet Amp with its chinese large scale production line that sucks all the spirit of good instrument. Thousand Thumbs up!
@WuTangBoneThugs This is based partly on "British" style amps (read: VOX) which have "interactive" bass and treble knobs that control the mids based on how you voice the other two.
Hi! I just bought a new 2x12 Transatlantic ta-30 (it was an old stock I guess), can I use another guitar Head amp and use my ta-30 as just the cab? and can I use my ta-30 as the amb for another cab? Thanks in advance!
Yes! To play another amp into the speaker pof your TA-30 you'll need a 1/4" coupler adaptor for the speaker connection. To play your TA30 into another cabinet, go out of one of the speaker outputs and connect the correct impedance speaker out to the prpoer impedance of the cabinet your using. Hope this helps and hope you're enjoying the amp! :)
HiFreddie Bishop - Uhhh.... It'll sound awesome! :D The TransAtlantic sounds great with closed back cabinets. Make sure it's connected to the appropriately matched speaker output on the amp and that'll be golden. Hope this helps and let us know if you have any further questions!
Hi there I received a mod scheme from a guitar forummer. Mesa seems to have issued it for reducing the fx-loop noise in the Mesa TA-30s. I am in Turkey, do you think any certified/official or unofficial tech can apply that mod? I have had problems getting techs do things in the past here, but I got a - in all senses - non-certified tech friend here, whom I trust more than the guys the local Mesa dealer might direct me to. At least I know he will listen and try his best. Thank you.
Hi Greg - If you like more rock and heavy gain styles, a Closed back cabinet is better (more punch and impact). If you want a 1x12, A Thiele is a good cab to consider. If you want a 2x12, The Rectifier Compact 2x12 is a good choice. :) If you play more clean and slightly clipped, traditional sounds, the open back cabs are a great way to go. A TransAtlantic 1x12 or 2x12 is great... or a 1x12 or 2x12 Lone Star cabinet will deliver these nicely. Hope this helps! :)
Before I bought this amp I kept saying "I can't believe it's 1600 bucks". Now that I've owned it for a few weeks I keep saying "I can't believe it's *ONLY* 1600 bucks".
I bought this amp slightly used...buzzes like a bunch of bees. Then it craps out on channel two. So I called Mesa up and they told me to go through the tubes and figure out which channel and swap them out one at a time (9 Tubes) ..I still can't get it to work right..very disappointed with this amp.
Can't blame the TA-30 for needing a new tube. Honestly, if diagnosing tube issues isn't your thing, I'll bet you'd be happier using a modeling amp, there are plenty of great options.
Yeah, it sounds considerably better in real life. I've just been to a gig in which the guitar player used one of these. It sounded so good that I came to youtube to find a bit more about it and found the sound in this video a bit misleading. The amp doesn't sound nasal at all.
For me a big disadvantage compared to other " lunchbox" amps : Nothing on the back, no effects loop, no direct or recording out, line out and so on, that would be a reason for me not to buy this amp, at the price you could actually expect that ! Too bad
This is a great demo, but who in the production crew approved this fucking piece of shit. H1 and H2 is an insult. There is not a quality player on this planet that would use this amp.

One of the best amps Mesa ever produced. Outstanding.

@count spatula have ya tried a noise gate in the effects loop to hush it up and if so did it work?
@@grisok that will not help. The hum is present by plugin the cable. Even the FX loop pedals are off, it hums.
Kris does some of the most articulate amp reviews and sound demos out there--articulate in terms of both performance and exposition. Nice job!
Love my TA-30, great sounding and so versatile. Got it as new/old stock for $900, could not be more pleased.
Not to my ears, I think it's a great sounding amp. You could get an EQ pedal if you found this to be an issue.

the tone on the outro is exactly what im looking for
thankyou Mesa Boogie

Mesa Boogie makes the best videos of the Mesa amps
I love this guys' demos! Please have him demo the Mark V !

Awesome tone and great playing .
The only vid yet to let the reverb shine!

thanks for that I'll try a few out if I can cheers
this amp is all you will ever need or want in an amp.
Great, great demo.
GREAT THANK YOU

What happens if I use the closed back cabinet I received for my Mesa Boogie Mini Rectifier with Transatlantic TA-30 head?

what is the model of the telecaster, please ?
Fender USA Custom Shop! :)
Nice job Chris.
What's your choice of speaker(s). I believe you are playing ou ot the TA-30 head..right?
last weekend I had the oppurtunity to try a TA 30 and a Fender Bassman Ltd and Guess who won?

Hi Emre - That might be a good question to ask our Support Team. Here's a link with how to reach them: mesaboogie.zendesk.com/hc/en-us
You are crazy to mod this amp it is perfect the way it is! Don't do it!
i have a ta 30 and would like to know the best amp cab suited to it
i might chance a 2x12
but which model anyone know what would be best
Thanks

This would be the perfect amp
How does this compare to the Express model?
the fender supersonic? :)
I think this amp sounds 80% M Boogie and %10 F, 10%M. Its probably designed more to get people in the retro crowd interested in Boogie Amps?
Jesus Christ... someone PLEASE tell me out to find a Green Day setting on this amazing amp!!
I'm willing to bet Kris' demo has sold a lot of TA-30s.
Before I bought this amp I kept saying "I can't believe it's 1600 bucks". Now that I've owned it for a few weeks I keep saying "I can't believe it's *ONLY* 1600 bucks".
WHERE IS THE MIDS KNOB?!
That's some Jedi-type shit how y'all moved the switches without touching them.
Bassman but which bassman?
Got this for 600 bucks. BE JEALOUS!

crank it up and it will sound good

nice Socks!!
"British style amp" -- wonder what he's referring to? 🤔🤔
Seriously though, this thing sounds phenomenal
to not being an american style amp
Sounds nasal to me? But maybe that's youtube for ya....

If there's 100 times the talking that there is playing, it's not a demo, it's a review/overview
For me a big disadvantage compared to other " lunchbox" amps : Nothing on the back, no effects loop, no direct or recording out, line out and so on, that would be a reason for me not to buy this amp, at the price you could actually expect that ! Too bad
The TA-30 does have an effects loop. I think you're referring to the TA-15, which doesn't.
This is a great demo, but who in the production crew approved this fucking piece of shit.
