- The Blue Mountains is one of the most spectacular places in Australia, but it's an area I've always avoided due to the crowds. Until now..

I'm 38 never been camping in my bloody life but for some reason i find myself watching your channel every night. Makes me want to go out and give it a crack. Keep it up, its brilliant stuff
If you're in Australia there's plenty of nice beaches and campsites where you can camp that are close enough to drive to a nearby town if you need anything so it's pretty easy to give it a shot without buying much. You'll soon figure out what you wish you had with you. Tent, mattress, sleeping bag, eski is enough to try it. Really nice to get away from civilization man, good for the soul.
Love your work Scotty!!! Always puts a smile on my face when I see your videos. I'm never one to comment on RUclips videos (like most us millennials) but seeing negative comments fires me up. Keep doing you my friend and creating inspiring videos for free on the internet. It's a privilege to be able to watch your adventures 🙌🏾
Thanks so much mate. Really appreciate it.
I live in Canada. Your country has pretty spectacular views as well. Scotty, despite the popularity of the Blue Mountains, if there were no tourists visiting, that area would soon be developed for industry, farming, mining, or other government lucrative ventures. It's the world we live in. Use it, or lose it. At least the landscape remains mostly pristine (except for the designated trails and established campsites.).Consider what is happening in the Amazon, or in Europe, Africa, Asia...
Been camping and hiking the BM for many years and its just so beautiful. Its even more beautiful in the rain when the mist swirls around the ridgelines .❤
Why the hell would anyone post a negative comment? Says waaay more about them mate. Excellent video. Keep up the great work!
What a fantastic view! I’d love to see you do that packrafting trip you described 👍. Great video as always!
Hey stranger! lol great minds think alike! Scotty and Going Solo collaboration would be sick. :) 🤙
Would love to see a pack rafting trip - sounds great!
Hope mum and bubs are growing nicely.
If you’re looking for solace don’t forget the southern end of the blue mountains. Places like starlight’s trail, Nat tai wilderness, belloon pass and yerranderie to name a few. Have done plenty of theses areas myself without another soul to be seen. Less than 2 hours from yours as well. A lovely area encompassing plenty of hidden gems the blue mountains. Nice vid again 👍
You always eat so well on these adventures. Thank you for bringing us along!
Another great vid as always. Stunning vistas in the Blue Mountains which are so particular to the area. Will have to get you rock climbing next time.
Mate you're bungle bungle trip got me so inspired I'm planning to do it in 2026❤ keep up the great journeys mate 🎉
what stunning views 😊thanks for sharing Scotty.
Yhanks for yhe video Scotty, great job as always love your work. Can't wait for the next one buddy.
Great Vid Bud, enjoyed it immensely.
A great video as always Scotty 😊 The 3 waterfalls - 😍. And agree with the others. Ignore the negative comments. Nothing but miserable so-and-so’s who have nothing better to do with their time. Keeping doing what you do for the rest of us who love it!
Another great video! Love the waterfalls!
Another great vid Scotty. Keep up the great work. Hope the family is doing well.
spectacular shots as usual Scotty. The sunset was magical
150k, wow congrats! Love your adventures. Have a good one
Love it Scotty!
I love your videos!! Those views were amaaaazing! ❤
Well done Scotty, I don’t know what or who I love more. The scenery or you. You’re roughing it but in a totally classy way. You have my full respect!!! You should be on Australian Survivor. You’ll go far in that game.
Loved it happy trails 😊
Excellent, thanks Scotty 😊
Love it Scotty, you inspire my son to go camping in the outdoors. We watch you almost every night..Keep it up mate.
Been watching your vids for a while now and realised I wasn't subbed but that has beed rectified. Keep up the good work, Scotty. It keeps me dreaming of the great outdoors
Great vid 👌🏻
Those 3 x waterfalls at sunset !! Gold Scotty 🙏🙏
What a spot to sit and enjoy a cold one and the gorgeous view!
Great video , really nice views and relaxing nature feeling🎉
You really do make the best videos man.
Brilliant, you are truly inspiring.
So good, thank you!
Welcome to the neighbourhood scotty! its nice to see my backyard on film, especially the way you film and edit. on ya!
Scotty. You deserve an easy trek/ easy travel after your last epic. The views, videography and your commentry were great.
Always enjoy your videos mate, but this maybe aesthetically one of your absolute best. Stunning views.
Such a magic spot Scotty!
Thanks once again for sharing, I love the blue mountains! Totally understand you changing your footwear, my favourite shoes were gortex Salomons they were light, waterproof and super comfy. Looking forward to your next video 😊😊😊
Great video! Off grid meals look great.
It's such a cool place
Thanks for sharing the video🤗🤗🤗
Nowhere does sunsets like Aus! Great video Scotty. Inspired me to get out in the bush again. Thanks for sharing some of your adventures!
Great video mate, its nice to see my home through your creative lens.
I understand your concern around the crowds though! Its certainly become a lot busier in the last 5 years.
I found your channel a month ago! Let me tell you, you’re making it hard for me to not sit still and just enjoy the US hikes. I will never be a rich man now. These Australia hikes are just gorgeous! Amazing work!
Check out Harmen Hoek hiking trip in the Blueys Scotty. The guy is a machine and he only seems to hike in trail runners. His vid on the Dolomites is fantastic.
Sensacional amigo . Um lugar com visão privilegiada e surreal . Parabéns pela vivência
Loved it mate. Your filming is always top notch and those waterfalls looked beautiful. I know what you mean about the boots .. I got the same scarpas as you and I just got back from the snow and they were drenched for most of the trip. I don't know if I can pull off the trail runners like you though 😆
When you compare the quality of your vids to what is out there, I am astounded you don’t have 1m + subs. That said, I reckon you’ve got 150k hardcore fans versus say 1m fair weather fans . Great video!
Looks like you made it to the Butterbox Point, try Lockleys Pylon or Fortress Ridge if you decide to come back to this part of Blue Mountains.
There are so many epic trails in Blue Mountains and if you come at the right time, on a weekday, you won't see many people.
90% of people visiting Blue Mountains just go to Katoomba, Wentworth Falls and Grand Canyon in Blackheath
great stuff thanks
Nice vid Scotty .....😊
What a bloody beautiful place to fall asleep and wake up to living the dream scotto
Love my solitude while trekking and camping too... And, lucky you we able to battle through another bitter NSW winter... t-shirt and shorts one minute, then gale force winds and michelin man parka, the next... lol
Greetings from Redondo Beach 🇺🇸🇺🇸Wonderful camping video 🌷🌷
In 2010 I chased a pretty girl (now my bride) around the blue mountains. She showed me the 3 sisters and the morning eucalyptus mist from the valley and I was instantly in love with NSW. Thanks for bringing those great memories back!
And- Cheers on the little one. Let the real adventures begin!
Beautiful spot but the first thing I thought was, looks like a great place for SNAKES! I had a friend from OZ who told me there were so many poisonous snakes around where she lived as a child she learned to "crack a snake" where you pick it up by the tail and snap it like a whip to kill it. This blew my mind but to her it was no big deal. Love your escapades, thank you.
Sure hope u don’t sleep walk Scotty !! Stunning area ..
Hi Scotty what a Gorgeous Awesome Beautiful Scenery 😊
Obviously no one agrees with @ausloadventures
These are the companies who support Scotty to do what he does and share with us!
And he properly tests and reviews some great products which helps us make choices in what gear to buy or not buy.
Cheers Scotty from the rest of us! 🍻
@@PM-lz5gs totally 👍🏼 💯
Thanks mate 👍🏻
Good stuff, Scotty. Top vid as always, even if others were around. Would highly recommend getting into canyoning; once you start, you'll be hooked. Difficult to film though.
... WOW !! What a beautiful sunset at 11:00+ .. Beautiful location all around .. I do hear you though ,, I generally don't go where the masses will be ,, being alone is what the mind and body needs to clear and refresh ...
Landscape photographers paradise ❤
The Blues are simply stunning! Lived on Evans lookout Rd in Blackheath & the traffic on the weekends was horrendous. Never took it for granted though, every day I breathed in the beauty 😊
The canyon is called butterbox or mount hay canyon. Did it earlier this year. The exit is insane as you have to rock climb out. That canyon not is for beginners. Another grop had a beginner with then who feel and got concussed. Can't wait until spring for the next canyon season. If your are keen to do a canyon my mate and I take a few newbies on different canyons each year and keep the harder and more dangerous canyons for just us.
I visited the Blue Mountains last year as a tourist. Would love to have seen the sunrise and sunset. Need to go back one day a lot to see. Thanks for sharing the adventure.
Mate's used to Lilo down from Blackheath to Nepean in the early 90s.
That might have been what they said but the Grose is shallow and full of boulders for a massive chunk of the way, and stretches all the rest. I know someone who has done it - portage all day long. Scotty underestimates as well - what with changes of direction and all, it's at least 60, probably more like 80k.
@@marooncity1 I have mate's who have run it too.
@@stuartmarshall7099 that I'm more inclined to believe, although, having walked from the headwaters down stream and then back around to mt Vic, and having had a bit of a poke around downstream from blue gum for a day or two - so, knowing the off track sections of the upper river pretty well - I think it's probably harder going these days than people give it credit for. lots of hardcore regrowth post fires, it's not easy.
Thanks the vid.i hope you get to the 200k subscribers
I live about a 30 minute walk from this.. it is even more stunning in real life. ❤❤
My dad used to live in Australia in the 60s. We now live in Canada. Ha always said "hooroo" when he would leave for work in the morning(70s.) This makes me think of him. Thank you for your efforts 😂.
Stunning location Scotty your winter looks warmer than our summer in England 😂😂 atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
Winter in the Blue Mountains is cold..... average temps are down to minus 0 at night to 7 or 8 during the day... it is usually foggy and or raining...I know, I live there.. 30 mins from where he started walking...
Very nice my friend😎
I was given a canyoning experience as a birthday present some years ago. It was amazing, exhilarating and exhausting. Definitely go with an experienced team!
Can find uncrowned spots in the blue mountains still a beautiful place. All ways great to watch Scotty walkabout
There are No bad views in the outback...
Amazing...
💚🤙🏼❤
I am a amateur hiking guy, I can make fire on my own with steel and quartz rock. Recently learned the faro rod for fire too. Water is so so important not there in trusting the water. I am in southwest of New Mexico and water is scares. Love your videos here too learn . And water skill off land I need to learn more to be safe. I use the yucca lot for meds and cord and food . The fruit and the flower. Thanks for the share it's treasure to keep learning.
That shot at 11:13 with the waterfalls is an absolute cracker!
Be a Yowie in there somewhere.
Finally got you to the Blue Mountains mate!!! Next time you’re near Pulpit Rock, drop in and say hi.
Good video mate. Might have to come up to QLD, doesn’t get quite as cold up here.
one of the nicest views i have ever seen.
Stunning location mate and ripper views. I've gone from low cut joggers to hi cut boots for hikes after rolling my ankle and tearing 2 ligaments. Your ones look good but that ankle support now has become a big thing for me. 2km into a solo hike and I had to walk my way back out on a busted ankle, not fun.
Good stuff scotty it's like our drakensburg
Boa noite Scottt !
Sou do Brasil, e curto muito a vibe dos seus vídeos. Você é privilegiado com as belas paisagens do seu país. Um grande Abraço...
Great video mate. I still boil my water at home out of the tap now living in town. I was in the bush but the water is not good in town
Wow! We have a mountain range called the Blue Ridge Mountains in the US. Your country is beautiful.
Can't beat the classic volleys.
I was just about to write the same thing.
Much love from Indonesia brother. Keep doing what you're doing. Been following you since early days and it's because you always put "I acknowledge the right of the land... (something2)". So I know you're doing it right. Though I noticed lately your video gets shorter and shorter which means less scenery (I know there's a reason for it, just saying if I were to comment)
Scotty? My birthplace, MEGALONG. Boy I must be back the front. I have never filtered water out in the bush but now I'm a townie i got all the filtration in the world to filter out those nasty chemicals they put in.
Great video , I used to used Hoka shoes for trail running but I had a lot of ankle rolls with them once I got a set of more normal trail runners I never done ankle again
Love the Blueys. Yep still plenty of solitude if you know where to go 😊
I just finished the Jatbula trail in a pair of Hoka speedgoats. It was my first time wearing trail runners on a multi day hike (I used to only wear them for day hikes with a small pack). I really liked them, no issues with my ankles and I found them quite grippy on uneven surfaces.
My boots are also scarpa and forested and I wanted something more breathable and lightweight for tropical top-end climate.
good on you thank you
Loved
One more comment been learning to flint quartzite rock and flake into arrow heads. Wanting to make knifes with this rock too but I learning stages right know. Any way thanks for the share enjoying your video
Same thing happened to me when I switched from boots to Hokas. You’ll adjust your walking to the shoe. And they’re less catchy as they wear down. Expect them to degrade fast with off trail walking. They drain so fast they’re basically water shoes. Hokas are slippery on wet sandstone.
A great walk as well is Pierces Pass to Acacia Flat where you can camp the night. This walk follows alongside the Grose River. Though, this track is very popular also.
I don’t think it would be possible to pack raft the whole river due to the many boulders and tree debris from floods.
Another great Australian landmark, world renown actually hence the heavy traffic. S2S makes one of the best outdoor products. Great minimalist stove. Your carry is quite durable & high end. It's best to use proper hiking boots or high tops (ankle height) shoes to prevent ankle injuries. Being a veteran yourself we're surprised that you've got city slickers runners on. As always great representation of NSW. They should make you ambassador for Outdoors Australia. Stay safe, dump that shoe & catch you on the next one.
Great video. What a scenic place! It's Independence Day here in the States. The day we celebrate our freedom from the Brits. We love them now and they love us. Funny how time changes things. Take care
The devils wilderness from Faulconbridge point bro
Great content Scotty! Love that track. Did you have any worries about wild camping in the area?
