I reached out to John Mazzei in hopes of learning anything about Sky Douglas, but unfortunately they lost touch years ago, and he has no idea if/where the albums can be found. The search continues...
There was a time when there were hundreds, perhaps thousands of New Age cassettes that sat in many record stores and the ocasional supermarket. Maybe the tape you're listening now sat in a shelf for years at half the price. Because of this, we can now hear these pieces with a different mindset.
go on ebay and search "new age synth private" and you'll find a bunch but beware because a lot of them are expensive, more often than not though they aren't.
Exclusively the 70s and 80s, during the peak of the modern Pax Romana in Europe and America, when people were more patient, had different brain waves, they were at peace, had time, creative, and technologically speaking, the electronic music available and EQ equipment was organic and didn’t sound over-commercialized, which creates a more warm ethereal astrological sound rather than sounding like loading music on a Windows computer.
