I just discovered Maurice Ravel's "Miroirs M.43: lll. Une barque sur l'ocean" and it reminded me of this beauty :)

I don't know why but the first feeling that came to mind when I heard this was being in kindergarten at recess or maybe it was gym class in Fort Drum New York..I was rolling down hills and we were all exploring through the woods. I don't remember if it was cold or warm out but it was sunny and dreamy. I never spoke to anyone really; I was a painfully quiet child so I don't remember having fun with anyone. But it was a fun time being myself as a youth those times. Being an adult now alone and looking back to when I was as alone as I could be as a 5 year old. Carefree adventuring..means something entirely different to me now that I can't fully articulate. This song nearly brought me to tears because even though I may not ever get to relive them I can listen to the things that can bring me back. Close enough ⭐🌻💫💙

Where is the 'like 1,000 times' button? This is one of the greatest Budd pieces I've ever heard! And I don't think I've ever heard any of his work performed on solo piano. I'm hearing shades of Debussy here, and so much else that I will have to listen to it endlessly to hear it all. Thank you so much for posting this!

+Dirk Diggler Totally agree this is sublime ,there is a solo piano album called Perhaps but alot of it is more sombre and the La bella vista album is also solo on a steinway .but this is still the best.

+Dirk Diggler I forgot the Akira rabelais album called The little glass which is virtually solo budd on the first disc and the most evocative ,nostalgic, haunting, subtle experimental reworking of fragments of the solo budd pieces its really superb. you can hear it on the Akiras bandcamp page.

This song is actually called “The Kiss” by Harold Budd. I think this is a live version but I’m not sure if it is called “Agua”. The Kiss sounds almost similar but sounds like a studio version without the background noise.
