I know it's a lot to make a whole video for this but, I would love to know how to make a very highly shielded speaker cable as my speaker cables run past some rather high voltage mains cables, and I believe most the interference I get is because of this. Again, brilliant tutorials. Would like to try and make some myself, and maybe add some extra cosmetics to really make them look the part. Thanks!
You have basically made an antenna to pick up RFI... i'm glad you are happy with it... however, that particular wire isn't a good example of what should be used for interconnects... anything in the signal chain before the power amplifier should be fully shielded with tight braid... you are using speaker wire.. your drain/shield conductor isn't appropriate as a shield in the circuit pre-amplification... that shield is just a stab at possibly helping carry the 60hz hum away in case the cable runs next to a romex run in a wall or ceiling.. but it's not appropriate in the low level signal chain... my guess is your particular placement is in a low RFI location and it sounds ok to you.. which is great... for you... but generally the proper cable would be a fully braided shielded cable... microphone or instrument cable is an example of a good cable for interconnects... even coaxial cable is used for interconnects because it's very resistant to RFI.. let's use speaker cable for speakers where a shield isn't that important.. other than using the wrong cable, nice job... nice finishing touch with the sleeving.. i've been doing that for years...
Thanks for the video. I'm making an stereo RCA to 5 pin DIN cable (Have a Naim system). Do I twist both ground cables and the drainwirie together and try to fit them all in the ground in the DIN connector (on the DIN side)?
Excellent tutorials! Can't believe how overpriced most commercial offerings are. I payed £30 ~ $50 for a 1m QED Performance One interconnect. They don't look as impressive as this either!
Very informative not many detailed videos how to do this definitely 😎👍🏻
Glad it was helpful!, thanks for watching
thank you good sir! love the BMW cap!
Thank you very much, love the music also.
Nice job and yea wish I could be there listening with you. Hand said you have a lucky lady tho. Happy New Year to you two. Have a great year.

Good job! You may also try twisting the cables, that helps to prevent noise.

Agreed, speaker wire is not appropriate for RCA cables...
Also, "silver solder sounds great" is complete nonsense.

Question: Where do I find dual-lead w/ drain wire cable? What is it more properly referred to as? Where can i buy it in bulk?
The wires sound amazing? The speakers do teh change from electrical to acoustic sound.
what size heat shrink do you use for this ?
Like what you do body, yes they sound love it.

Sure. I'll have the video up in a few days. Thanks for watching.
Thanks
You're welcome, thanks for watching
real nice job man i was looking to buy now im on the making thanks ,,, the music at the end sond like porno background music ahhahaha
Thanks man
Can sum1 tell me how to make an audio to audio cable?
But there is no shielding on those.
Does anyone know how to make RCA to 9 pin din cable for Bose accustamass
Or any rca input cables for Bose subwoofers
i don't know if using speaker cable is a good idea for a interconnect... lot of noise..
More like DIY... MIC!!
mike can you make me a pair 0.5 metre
lol get your self some rg-6 and crimp on rca connectors half the price and it takes 20 seconds
@jjlwis
I don't beleive !!!
Thanks
