Watched this movie as a kid and promised I wouldn’t give up. I now model and act, I’ve started dancing, I have a local radio show, I direct music videos + am writing my first film with two other girls, and I just started travelling for my work :)

This movie came out in 2009 when I was 12 and I had soooo many dreams back then. I was so creative and fearless and I was in advance musical theater and advance drama all throughout high school and now I am 24 years old, working at a dealership. How did I get here? Watching this brings tears to my eyes because it reminds me that I let my 12 year old self down :(
You did not let yourself down, it’s just a detour, you can get back to doing everything creative that you loved back then!
Never too late to get back to your dreams, detours are ok just don’t give up !
The question is this. Are you happy in life? If not, then put it in God's hands. Let Him show you your path. And you will find that you are where you are supposed and need to be. When I was young, all I knew was that I wanted to do something with computers. I tried going in to college as a programmer and could not pass accounting in order to advance in my grades. So, I went into the Corps. For my final 4 years, I was the head of an IT department. When I separated, I went back into college and got my associates in computer network operations (graduated within the top 10 of my graduating class). And for almost 13 years I have been working as a tier 1 network administrator/manager for a small company. I may not be making 6 figures a year (I am close though), but I can tell you that I did not lose faith, even when my path took a detour.

You can still pursue your dreams and I hope you have taken a step to trying to.
I quit my Social Work job to return to painting and setup a community business.
It's been hard but I'm so happy!

I will be 60 years old this year and I literally have nothing to show for it. But in reality that is the way we all came into this world, with nothing. I have a 16 year old beagle who loves me, she is blind, but she knows when to lay her head on my chest when I need her the most. This movie is such an inspirational film for people who dream of preforming I love how they have a woman of color Naturi Naughton as a main lead and vocalist this movie shows so much diversity loved the entire movie and this performance

@@joewhitehead3 Comparing this to The original FAME is like comparing the 3rd Rocky to the first one. The first one has character development, thoughtful content and addresses the reality of performing arts schools and how it affects the students, both short and long term. This one… is superficial tripe.
In the original they also had a woman of color playing a lead!
Sadly, she just passed onto whatever comes next!
Everytime I watch this I get chills
I loved how they used slow motion. It's not overly done and how they used it to help illustrate the dances. They knew what they were doing.
Overall the cinematography in this movie is amazing as well as this song.
Never saw the original Fame movie but I saw this version years ago and I liked it so much that I watched it with my dad and got very emotional at the choir’s part because the lyrics were very relatable to me at that dark period of my life. Unfortunately I ended up dropping out of high school but I picked myself back up and years later I’ve now got my Bachelor’s degree and living in my own apartment. It’s never too, late, no matter what stage of your life you’re in.
It's 2022 and this song just came to my spirit and I came here on youtube to find it. I'm having chills listening to it over and over again. I watched this video when I was a high school senior and I felt so inspired. I am watching this now again as a PhD student on my way to becoming an epidemiologist and I remembered why I felt so good after watching it. Thank you for reminding me to believe in myself. Yes, it’s cheesy but it has worked for me this long so I’m going to keep believing that I am destined for greatness!

it's 2021 and I'm writing my application for a job in a dream industry, I kinda forgot how passionate I was before the pandemic but somehow I remember I have watched a movie about Julliard School when I was in high school and finally found it. This really helps to remind me of my dream. (and I have graduated from grad school now.) I think this movie is underrated and the cast really got talent, otherwise, I won't remember this so well...

I literally, as in a couple hours ago, was an African dancer in the final performance of an end of school year show. It was one of the most fun things I can say I did.
This movie really wanted me to believe that this whole year of this Arts School had one (1) decent solo singer lol

I don't like this movie- I found it hard to connect with the characters- but the amount of talent in the cast is unreal.
+ChelleIsRandom Bad direction and writing. The cast is talented and the music selections were stellar. Such a shame the executions were poor. The songs were the movie's highlights, everything else was boring.

Just wanted this movie to be so much better. A lack of charisma, good story telling and cliched uninspiring plot points killed it. The performances are top notch but not enough to save a movie relying too much on the High School Musical crowd.
