British Soap Awards 2016: In Memoriam

British Soap Awards remembers the famous stars who died on the past 12 months include Peter Baldwin (Coronation Street), Stephen Hancock (Coronation Street), Shirley Stelfox (Emmerdale), Kitty McGeever (Emmerdale) and Kristian Ealey (Brookside and Hollyoaks).

I'm not as familiar with the Folks the way you guys are but there are Two who stand out for me. Tony Warren (Coronation Street) is to the UK what the late Irna Phillips who created the First Soap Opera Guiding Light on Radio in 1937 that made the transition to TV in 1952 then went off the air on September 18, 2009. Were it not for Tony Coronation Street would not have existed and maybe UK Soaps wouldn't have been created. Shirley Stelfox was next to Diane Parish (Denise Wicks) the longest running female Black Soap Actor in the UK which i salso quite an achievement.
