We wanted to stretch the boundaries of what the series was, and could have been! It deserved better! From all of us at the AD Team This will be a Star Wars film we've all been waiting for.

Even though I like the Kenobi series, I always felt it could do better as a feature film. And when you sprinkle some VFX experience into all of this, the possibilities of creating a new story set in the lore-consistent galaxy suddenly become endless."

This seriously looks AMAZING!! I was and still am a fan of the Kenobi show as Disney made it, but THIS seriously looks like you’re just dialing everything up to an 11 in the best way possible! I have serious respect for this project my man, kudos for taking it on!!!! 💯👍🏼👍🏼 I’ll certainly be watching it! Just hoping you cut just enough of Reva out to streamline and left just enough of the original final duel with Kenobi and Vader for it to feel similar to the show. AD_edits has an INCREDIBLE reimagining of their final duel that is cut in a way that feels totally organic. Can’t wait to see what you come up with!! 😬😬😬👍🏼👍🏼

Pixel, are you going to be able to edit in some sort of reason why Obiwan doesn't finish off Vader at the end?
So this is what it looks like when there's passion behind a creation.
It breaks my heart to see how Kenobi turned out. It seems like everyone involved besides Hayden and Ewan gave like 10% effort.

No slight to the faneditors - the new VFX and music are impressive and I'm looking forward to checking out the final edit, but 90% of the overall thing is still coming from the writing/acting/shooting/costuming/sets of the original show. You've got to have a pretty seriously warped view of things to completely disregard that. "10% effort" - but a bit of extra polish and now it's great? That doesn't add up. If the original wasn't already ~80% of the way to being good then it'd be a fool's errand to bother putting something like this together.
The best fanedits come from being able to honestly appraise what a work does well and where it falls short so you can focus in on the good while de-emphasising the bad; not from armchair speculation about nebulous concepts like how much "effort" or "passion" was involved - it's entirely possible to put a huge amount of effort into something and have it absolutely not show in the final result, and vice versa.
@@sade1212 What they mean by 10% is the VFX looks super fake. The remakes fix the VFX. So now Inquisitorus looks accurate to the source material. Grand Inquisitor's voice and head is fixed. The new planet at the end of the series looks incredibly accurate to a feature film's final battle, while the original definitely feels like a TV show, which is honestly sad.
@@ECSOrder66 I think blaming iffy VFX on the amount of effort the artists put in is pretty wacky, too. How many news stories have there been about long hours, horrendous overwork, tight schedules, last minute changes, backlogs, companies going bust after a big project, etc.?
And the original... is a TV show. It doesn't look much worse than something like The Expanse and looks much better than the VFX in older sci-fi like Firefly, BSG, Babylon 5, Berman-era Star Trek etc.

As a dude who works in post-production myself, ngl guys this has insane potential. Easily the best fan edit I've ever seen. Can't wait until the cut of the film comes out. I'm not a VFX artist I'm just an editor, but people aren't realizing the amount of work you guys are putting into this. This is a massive project. Some of these shots that were re-rendered look absolutely sublime, and the deepfaking looks pretty damn good. Keep going guys!!! You should be proud of yourselves for taking on something like this. TAKE YOUR TIME AND FIX THIS DAMN SHOW!!!! I'll wait as long as possible

@@ADedits9 probably my biggest qualm with Kenobi. JFO made Nur seem like a place YOU DONT WANT TO GO. With deep, dark oceans and a giant lava planet looming in the distance, and a fortress that looked like the gates of hell. Then Kenobi was like, yeah, just plain green water and cloudy skies, with a fricking traffic cone of a tower. Also every single scene on Nur is in daytime so we don’t have to animate Mustafar.

I'll be honest I thought they were more awesome in JFO but I think it's a nice symbolism of Vader's character. In the series, the system was made Vader's system, which came into conflict with Anakin through Kenobi. When Vader in Fallen Order was just full Vader it was dark when Anakin in the Kenobi series weakened Vader in the series and so Anakin came through it was on just light. I think that's brilliant story telling.
@@thisisthisis542 That kind of mentality is something I hate in the modern movies, meaning everything needs to be new and different somehow. "Nur is dark and blue with Mustafar in the background- let's make it bright, green and overcast!". "I have a bad feeling about this is spoken in every film- let's make the droid say it this time in beeps and boops (TLJ)". "Let's put Dengar in EPIX, but he looks totally different and has a fake name". I'd love if they stopped playing with the already established tropes...
Also, the vertical slit in the Fortress is one of it's most noticeable features, which is missing in the show for some reason.
@@PixelJoker95 yeah, and I feel like it’s mostly a cover for being lazy. Instead of coming up with creative ways to do the old thing, they just do it bad or don’t do it all and hide behind “it’s actually a perfect metaphor or if you think about it, it is the TRUE way that blah blah blah represents blah blah blah. Ultimately modern film makers both have no creative qualities and really don’t understand the source material they have been given.
Also yeah that slit has always been so cool. And what happened to the tower’s red eyes in Kenobi. Also, do we get to see a control room in the new version of the show?

Dude, Sith Luke standing over Owen and Beru's burning bodies is horrifyingly wicked.
I really like how this edit seems to be leaning into Obi-Wan's PTSD visions--it was one of my favorite parts of Kenobi but I felt they didn't lean into it enough, just like one or two nightmares and seeing Anakin in the distance that one time. Between young Anakin showing up in his binoculars and the other visions here with the lightning and the more in depth dreams, this really looks like it's doing the concept justice.

Thanks! Yeah we saw this type of PTSD hallucination only in this one shot on Mapuzo. But in order for this to make an impact, I decided to create a couple of more visions on a certain story points.

The Vader/Anakin transition is one of the best cuts in al cinema history ! And that´s sayin´something.
Lot's of new content (even a bit of Andor X-Wing in it). This is not just a simple re-cut, looks like you have undertaken a major attempt to re-do the show into an exciting event (hopefully one complete movie??) with additional footage from other shows and new imagery and added special effects. We will all be waiting for this. Thanks for the nice X-Mass gift. I need to buy some more popcorn.
What was wrong with the show?
@@TheEmperor2004 , your associate (Vader) did a great job for you. He will refocus on your future assignments and not get involved with Kenobi again. Joking aside, the show was great, I enjoyed watching it. The failure comment was more Disney management decision, it should've been done as a Full-length Movie and not in weekly episodes. This fine show was doomed with so many negative social media comments that would have been reduced in one movie where all the plot cliffhanger issues would have been answered by the movie end. Thanks for your comment. Actually I'm in my third re-watch and I've also watch the "Patterson" fan cut as well.

The 4th Episode really felt like that filler which was made after they turned it from a movie to a series.
And Social Media everytime a new episode came out was pretty annoying.

If this had been the actual trailer or even the actual plot for Kenobi would have electrified the fandom. Truly insane how fans of this franchise and piece together and edit and create what would most be enjoyed by the community than the actual studio at this point.

You know some people would have just accepted the sub par show they were given with Kenobi and moved on to the next sub par thing, but its great to see that you saw the actual potential this show could have had. A little thought and respect can go a long way and I deeply respect the effort and time all of you put into this.
PixelJoker has done an outstanding job on this edit and you guys made an incredible trailer to showcase his work also really enjoyed Nicholas's GI voice!! Watched this trailer at least 4 times now haha would also be really fun to compare the original scenes with the altered ones

I admit I'm of the old school and don't return to the Prequels and couldn't finish this series with how they handled it, but seeing that moment with Ben looking at Vader and seeing Anakin, teared me up with Obi Wan. So brilliant.

This was way more fun to watch than the actual trailer. I’m not one of those big time critics who completely criticized Kenobi, but the show does have problems. The amount of detail you put into the Grand Inquisitor’s design and voice, Fifth Brother, and the Fortress background, were so good.

One suggestion--if you keep the line at all--but I feel like it'd be way more powerful (and drawing more parallels with Return of the Jedi) if Obi-Wan says to Vader, "Then my BROTHER is truly dead," instead of "then my friend is truly dead." However, this is of course your choice entirely! I trust you with this project because holy frick LOL that trailer was amazing
