I just bought a NeoAir XLite. What is the best way to 'store 'it long term? I have a Thermarest ProLite Plus that I store valve open and extended. Can either be stored "valve open," but rolled up?

Self inflating mattresses are stored extended so the foam is intact and functional the next time. Since there is no foam on the NeoAir line, it can be rolled up.

should i buy it in MAX large or in Mummy large???

I always buy the MAX version because I can sleep on the side better and I love the extra comfort for little extra weight.
Honestly, go with your gut and buy whichever you better like, only using them you will know for sure which one is more ideal for you. Both are excellent, you are not missing the great determinator. If really in doubt, buy the mummy at REI or other reputable store and if you don't love it, exchange it for the glorious (sorry, it is my preference) MAX.

is it possible to blow up the neo air xlite nxt with the mouth without mold creating in the pad and without reduced isolation because of moisture going in the pad?

you would need to pass your breath through a portable dehumidifying ion filtration system (PDIFS)... this can be done but its not cheap and its not lightweight. Its also not available without a license and its only available to scientists and it can be dangerous not mention poisonous and ethically irresponsible since the chemicals used to make it are harmful to the environment and never break down.

The reduced isolation is not noticeable unless you are at extreme temperatures and the humidity creates ice crystals (this is not an air pad for that weather in any case). About the mold, if worried, use your air pump but many people (myself included) inflated air pads with the mouth for so many years without noticing anything! There are mold spores and humidity in nature anyways, which maybe inserted by a pump, nothing to be worried about. I use a pump because it is easier more than safer. If you decide to save the weight, I bet you will do it for so many years that when you retire your pad will be for any reason other than "mold". Please tell us in a few years if you could create a moldy pad, will be interesting.

@@edmundoa1935 the PDIFS is the only way.

Several youtube videos on this where pads eight years old are free of mold. It's rare and the one I saw that did have mold was so small a section you'd have never known it was there after nine years

If it had a quilted pattern instead of verticals baffles, it would be perfect.

And I would sleep on the bear ground if it had the quilted baffles because they were they put me with my size and weight every time

Please please please release a version that does not stick out like a sore thumb in the middle of the woods! I would like to purchase one but the colors you guys use are a no go.
I am going into the woods to enjoy nature. Not to have a nosy mushroom hunter come over to bother me with his/her silly questions about what I am doing. It doesn't have to be camo but something that doesn't stick out. Dark green or olive would be perfect. I'd pay extra for it.

Might not be the solution you're looking for but they sell a gray sheet you can easily wrap around it

What do you recommend instead? I was going to get this model because of the 30D fabric and the decreased noise
