Making more space for the obiage as the first step was such a good tip! And making an extra loop around the knot was also a great trick! I will definitely try to remember these the next time I put on a kimono.
I wear "boring" men's kimono, lol. But i love how much there Is to learn about women's kimono. So many sensible suggestions to get those details perfected.
What an easy to understand tutorial! This is going to be my goto video for when I practise tying my obiage. I also loved your historical fact about obiage, thank you❤️
Thank you, thank you, thank you for this tutorial! I never could tie an obiage neatly and always struggled with tucking of the ends inside. So I'll definitely try your method!
Thank you so much for this video! I've been struggling forever with having a nice looking obi-age. This is by far the best and easiest to understand video I've come across.
Thank you Billy so much for this video!!! It’s the clearest and best video I’ve seen for how to tie obiage!! I especially love your tip on looping over the top of the knot to make it look neat! I’m going to try your method this week for our first Ro lesson of the year for tea class (I’m in Australia so it’s winter here at the moment!) 💗💗💗 thank you! Please keep making videos like this!
Before I try this myself I just want to tell you that I really, really love your outfit here! The kimono is just great, but all the details and your look? Wonderful
Thank you for this video! Oh, I have so much to learn, I always just "get away" with a not too neat obiage. By the way, are you planning to make a tutorial for obiage and obijime styles for furisode? I am looking forward to your future videos!
You have literally saved me several years of experimenting. Thank you, so very much.

I need to get one
Thank you so much for this well explained video. ❤️
My obiage is puffy and I can't get tied like that. What kind is it and how else can I tie it? It's super elastic like and thick so the knot is huge.
Could you tell us the length and width of a obiage? I need to make some for various outfits.
I just recently purchased the kimono with the pre-tied bow and obi how do I use the obi age with it
Thank you so much! Great help!
my obi-age is always a mess because i'm way too lazy after tying my obi, but I should try more with it.
