The 17th century classical court music sounds very alike in parts of Europe ,because the alliance marriages of princesses and princes. The court musical composers combined both countries musical traditions. But popular music.

I don't wanna be rude here but in Europe spanish renaissance music is quite well and widely known. I think you didn't hear these spanish composers because in the Anglo sphere people usually go into French German Italian and British stuff. Spain is the little guy nobody really notice, especially in the anglophone world. But now you did so good work.

There has been a deliberate omission of not only Spanish composers, but of scientists, philosophers, and many other creators and achievers by Anglo-American writers and publishers.

It's a mix of reasons. From one side, it's true that there was a lack if interest on Spanish music through the 17th, 18th and 19th century. To the point it was said that spaniards were unable to produce high art music. But at the same time Spanish itself was isolating itself and was kinda hermetic. So they weren't making their music know outside their frontiers. It's quite a long and troublesome topic to tackle. But there's a quite good study that could provide useful.

I don't know if this is actual music history, but it appears to me that repertoire from the Iberian peninsula is exquisitely underdeveloped. Hence, it sounds more like 'castle music' which lacked the protocol of let say Germany or Italy.
No estoy seguro si sera verdad, ademas me parece que el repertorio de la hiberia suena nada desarrollado. Entonces, me parece mas como la musica del castillo que faltaria la cuenta de eso Aleman o Italia.
