As a caps fan , kemperer was off as you say, caps couldn’t put up more than 2 goals so the goalie had to steal games, lindgren definitely stole games, I think kemperer bounces back. He also was unlucky as well. Caps have wealth at goalie in their minor league system.I do think LA panicked with that no trade clause coming up in a few days, I hope it works out for both

Just a reminder, the caps have a skills coach, who was PLD’s skating coach in Columbus who he absolutely loved. His teammates, Matt Roy, just signed as well. To recap, PLD has a familiar face who wouldn’t have came to DC if it was a bad connection, and a coach who watched PLD develop and can work with him in a positive environment. If any organization is set up to assist PLD, it’s Washington. Young coaches, really good at pushing people to find the next gear, never hearing anything bad from players. Keep in mind, if PLD plays on Ovi’s top line, they will take 90% of their draws in the ozone. So he will be sheltered on defense more than people think. Caps desperately need goals, so expect carberry to be more offensively minded next season. I think this will be a traded where both teams either suck as a result or both teams benefit. Kuemper did good with the kings many seasons ago, and the caps could do well with PLD in the top 6 to shelter ovi and carry our rebuild.
Interesting analysis around Pierre and as a Caps fan I do think his place in the top lines will give us potency that we’ve lacked. I question what his motivation is and where it goes.
Caps have potential of massive upside here imo. Feels like it could really work out. This is one of the few sane reactions so far where there’s actual thought into it rather than just an emotional surface level take and recycled capfriendly jokes. Nice one 👏
