    About Sandy Hook Promise
Sandy Hook Promise (SHP) is a national, nonprofit organization based in Newtown, Connecticut. We are led by several family members whose loved ones were killed in the tragic mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14, 2012, that claimed the lives of 20 first-graders and 6 educators. SHP is focused on preventing gun violence (and other forms of violence and victimization) BEFORE it happens by educating and mobilizing youth and adults on mental health and wellness programs that identify, intervene and help at-risk individuals. SHP is a moderate, above-the-politics organization that supports sensible non-policy and policy solutions that protect children and prevent gun violence. Our intent is to honor all victims of gun violence by turning our tragedy into a moment of transformation.

@@ZodiacBoi42 The idiocy of your perspective defies the ability for you to see or understand reason. How many so-called gun deaths, drive-by shootings, gang wars, drugs related shootings and suicides were there when Churches were full and people prayed "as a family?"
Crickets chirping. Guess prayer worked huh.

@@AntiMarxism21stCentury you talkin to me? Lmao. People growing up in hateful, overbearing religions end up becoming the same. And if you’re any different than what they want you get abandoned by your family and screamed at by the elders. Pain. It all causes pain, and eventually that pain manifests itself into wrath.

      Church?
Yes. There are a lot of churches out there that are amazing communities for people to connect with and find social support through, but caution should be taken when throwing a broad “go to church” statement on it when there is a high chance he did go to a church at some point. It may have been one that didn’t connect with him for one reason or another. Church participation does not automatically negate nor predict violence. It’s also unfair for those who presume all churches are evil, as there are many filled with loving people who would embrace someone and their differences. Some churches tell their audience gay people should be hurt while others say you should do your best every day to be kind to those around you no matter the background. The places in his region may have been the formwr and it could have made the situation worse, and that’s not just a Christianity notion it goes for all types of organizations
      Just another perspective
