Crete is wonderful, and is only busy with tourists if you are as smart as the other tourists going in peak season. Did you know a year has 12 months? It's pretty amazing once you know it. Because, Greece is heaven in spring and winter when it's 80% mountains are snow capped, its valleys and so on fertile green. and in spring time full in rich wild blooming flowers. Don't mind my sarcasm and cynisism here. Crete is amazing in summer. But october is just as amazing with way less crowds and waters still warm. And spring time is incredible too and little amount of tourists. But a terrific atmosphere
Hi Ann, this was filmed in August. The weather in Chania in early April should be fairly mild, but I'd bring a light jacket or jumper for the evenings. Hope you have a great time.
Thanks Yvonne & Mike 😊 I hope 2024 is treating you well! Us, your viewers would never dream of interfering with turtles lol! 🐢 Thanks for bringing such a pristine & lovely location to our attention as I also know very little about Greece let alone its islands. Is English as widely spoken as Madeira there & did you get a chance to try their gyros?
Happy New Year Rue! I know you wouldn't molest our shelled aquatic friends - although I do wonder if I've set the idea in certain viewers minds now :) As it's so touristed, there's a lot of English spoken, so easy to get around. Alas, we're not big on eating meat - there were vegetarian gyros available, but that felt like going for a vegetable espetada in Madeira :)
I'm and artist and most my content is about this beautiful town that stole our hearts ❤ We even bought a house there and the obsession continues #crete #chania
I wouldn't say so Petra, we were there for 2 weeks and found that to be rather nice. Especially if you want to relax into it. Hope you have a great time.
I love the format of seeing the town in the background as you impart the information, good idea!!
Thanks mate, pleased you thought so, it's good to have the feedback.

Hi there Roger, ah yes, this was filmed in peak season, but the atmosphere was great and we enjoyed it a lot despite the heat.

Thanks for this interesting blog. My husband also uses the cappuccino price index to judge how expensive a resort is! 😂
