Ha! Loved this Gareth, I was watching thinking "I know all these locations you're walking about" and like you, I've never walked over that bridge! Love market day also and the cheese shop in the indoor market does some banging cheeses and chutneys!
Loved this, thanks Gareth! I always seem to struggle in markets - so much going on it can be a bit overwhelming and i end up with pretty boring/ cliché shots - even abroad where the markets areusually so much better!
Small town photography is a challenge. My town in Tasmania is very small and so i vary the lenses I take out on different days to change the way I see it.
I'm local-ish and have shot there a few times, Saturday market days I've had some luck there, the pigeons sometimes help create a layered shot and one of the stalls has mirrors for some reflection shots, but like you say a very old school town just walking around with the camera gets you a lot of funny looks and is often very hard work to get a good shot
I just looked up the population of Cardiff. It's close to 500k. You call that a small town? Where I live in the US is less than 3,000. The closet city to me is around 15,000. The closest large city (50k) is an hour drive.
@gashead2 I'm not familiar with cities in the UK. I heard but I couldn't remember. I looked in the description below for the cities and saw Cardiff first. But the population in the city he was in is still around 188k people. That's not a small town. I'd like to know what they call where I live? There's less than 3k people here.
love the shots. just shows it can be done anywhere. Great video

Great video! Cool shots!
I live in a super small town, so I was in for just that. Plus, I'm glad you're back.
Lovely work. Thanks.

At least you try dude. It’s not meant to be easy. Looking for good light or interactions helps
1st photo worked the best for me. But the silhouette on the striped cloth is also good.
Dude, I feel for you my closest town is Rhyl 😂 Great video, following.
Long time no see! I was missing your videos!
Haha thanks mate. Hopefully more regular going forward now 😁

I bet if you did it regularly and spoke to people you’d do ok. Def trying again on good days
"Woohoo! I'm not nuts!"
Lol 👏
I was a bit shocked that worked haha
Using Fuji language... do you dial in a recipe for your B/W shots?
In camera the bw high contrast is good. I use my own Fuji acros recipe funnily enough. I don’t do much editing tho.

I wasn’t in Cardiff mate. I was in Carmarthen.
You weren’t listening were you 🤣🤣
