It is inappropriate for a great guitarist as mr frank potenza to say no music books on the gig. Perhaps he would like to retract that statement as I have enjoyed the great music of great jazz artist on band stands with sheet music and even jazz artists such as pat martino with written music they play from or just have for recollection purposes. There are millions of songs and I'm sure me potenza hasn't memorized them all.

+Claudia Chavez This is just a teaser video of a full-length lesson series on how to learn/internalize standards so you may be taking it out of context. The full version is available at www.mymusicmasterclass.com/premiumvideos/learning-jazz-standards-on-guitar-frank-potenza-1/. Frank is referring to common standards that most people play, not specific arrangements that are written out for specific performances or recordings. And in the professional jazz world, the cats can get up to play these common standards without the help of real/fake books. That's what he's saying and that's why he created this series...so that musicians would understand his method of learning tunes.
