Purgatory is the limbo between living and death where you are waiting to be judged. Everyone in the pub are dead with baggage from their life. In death we are all the same thats why everyone is getting along. When ren leaves the pub he is brought back to life after the wreck and Webby who was driving didnt make it and is still in Purgatory. I think it's also the reason why they did the video in shades of grey.....so there's no black no white just everyone waiting for forgiveness acceptance and to acknowledge their mistakes/sins so they can move on. Also the sheer number of reactors that don't notice the Purgatory at the beginning nor understand what it is, is mind boggling to me especially considering just how many religious people are in the US and how it's pushed in schools. This isn't a complicated video just a lot of symbolism like the swastika and the black man wearing a hanging KKK pendant.

The imagery relates to PURGATORY. Purgatory is a way of god showing his mercy to the people who have sinned but still have scope for redemption. It is a cleansing process that rids the saved soul from any impurities or earthly attachments and prepares it for Heaven. Example, the biker closing the phone of the black woman and explaining to her to let it go.
