I found your channel about three weeks ago; I subscribed before the first video was over. I will soon be 73; I retired three years ago and lost my hubby of 49 years in May of 2021. I haven’t been wearing makeup much since my retirement,but watching your videos had made me realize that I need to feel good about myself for ME! That I am important and don’t need to sit at home in my pjs with the blinds pulled! I’m starting by getting a puppy; this is a first! Im getting up and getting dressed. I don’t always put on makeup, I’ll work back into that! I definitely feel better. Thank you for being you and giving me the encouragement to get up and start living again. Bless you.
I cannot begin to tell you how much you have encouraged me tonight. I have just watched you video. I am 78 years old and I have been in a time warp for quite awhile. I believe I can wear my hair in the style you wear yours but I'm very leary of just letting anyone cut it! It's grey with black underneath. Your makeup application is perfect! I am watching At 11:45 pm . I love your videos. Always simple and easy .I am 65 yrs old and have been completely grey since I was 38 yrs old. I have been coloring my grey sever since I started turning. I am a light blonde. I would love to be brave enough to let my grey grow out .Your grey is gorgeous. My hair has gotten fine and thin. All my life I had very thick hair with lots of body. No more ,.my beautiful thick hair is gone. . I’ve always curled my lashes ,but never have used a heated eyelash curler. I think I will try this one. You are such an inspiration.I’ve been so depressed since 2019. I lost my dad,went through a divorce , take care of my mom and she now has Alzheimer’s.I had no time for me. Haven’t had a vacation since 2012. It’s hard but I just keep pushing. No on todo these things except me. Love you and your inspiration ❤️

Nikol you’re so inspirational. I realize while watching you that I’m inpatient when applying my makeup. I want it to be over & done with in 5 min. That’s not realistic. I purchased the eye & lip primer & it makes a huge difference in prepping for eyeshadow. So thank you for passing on your experience & knowledge! I have very hooded eyes so I have found small brushes seem to work for me best. I have found that patience helps with elderly eyes not so many mistakes.

I'm fairly-tech savvy but wish I could figure out how to take your heartfelt pep talks from all of your videos and compile them together. Why? Because when I need some encouragement/feeling blue because of the 2020 Craziness/ or need someone to jump-start me out of a "poor pitiful me" moment; I could listen to those pep talks and pull up my Big Girl Pants! Just know that (to alot of us, I'm betting), you're not just a makeup expert. You're also a positive influence on what really matters which is feeling good about ourselves! Big Hug and thank you!

Love, love, love your videos. Wanted to know if money was no object, are the LeMar products worth it? Just asking, since I was looking at the concentrate and the product line. I looked at all the different products I have purchased and probably exceeds the costs if I just went simply with LeMar- which some people swear by - thanks for your honesty
Hi I’m not Nikol 🤣 but I’m a La Mer devotee, used most of their products for a long time. I really love them but my purse does not! I would say their eye cream is definitely worth the splurge (the new eye concentrate). I love the soft cream and the original cream, it’s amazing but I do worry about the fragrance long term. The tinted moisturisers are nothing special in my opinion, bronzer is lovely, the toner is great but the real star is the serum foundation. It’s incredible in my opinion. I have the concealers and I like them but they can be a bit dry. I’ve started using Aurelia skin care after Wayne Goss recommended it and their day cream and cleanser is up there with La Mer in my opinion. Wayne Goss recommended the Aurelia eye serum and it’s brilliant, I’m alternating that with the La Mer. The Aurelia is great at dealing with puffiness. Wayne Goss gave a code on his recent eye cream video too for Aurelia.

I’m so tempted to just dump my stuff and start new with LeMar - yes it is pricey, but I really took an account of all my different products that I have bought... $50 here and there, creams, oils etc., and I was astounded at the totals and then I have said to myself....if I just bought the serum, concentrate and cream (I okay with my cleansers), maybe I would be better off and not have a drawer full of items that I stop using after awhile - you know what I mean? P.S. I am a mature woman with very dry skin.
@@djgarrett8096 me too! I worked on a ward during the height of the first pandemic and my skin stayed lovely and moisturised for 12 hour shifts. Everyone else said theirs was dry. When you order from the website you can choose two samples and build an idea of what you like. Also ask at your local counter if you can have samples to take home. I’ve been Using it for a couple of years. I mix in a few products from the ordinary (niacinamide and the beetroot peel) and vitamin c from Paula’s choice. I’ve tried the new probiotic and it’s nice but I think I actually prefer the one from Aurelia and it’s cheaper. I’m 48 with dry, acne prone, hormonal skin. I wore the La Mer foundation at work (very lightly) under a mask and coupled with their powder it stayed put all day. If you use the normal cream you warm it between your fingers and press it into the skin, the soft cream is really easy to spread over the face. I think I like the soft cream more

I was happy you introduced another matte eye shadow and ordered it right away. Imagine my disappointment when I discovered “ Authentic “ was “Bare it all” and all you had done was renamed a palette I already owned, one partially used AND an unopened one. I feel used! No more orders from me. If you had been honest and stated it was a rename you wouldn’t have lost a fan.

Do you apply eye cream on before you place the eye and lip primer?
I've had a heated eyelash curler for a long while and although it says to curl after mascara--I do it first because the heat from the curler melts off the mascara and makes a mess on my eyelid.
That’s interesting Donna I have never had that issue and I have been doing it both your way and the way I show in my video today forever. I wonder if the Heated Eyelash Curler you were using heated up too much? A good tip is to use the heated eyelash curler before the mascara dries completely.
@@NikolJohnson I think I've tried it in so many different ways that I've settled on it working this way the best for me. I do love a heated curler because I have some tiny lashes at the outside corners that want to bend down and poke --the mechanical curler can't include them but the heated one can! I always enjoy your videos and advise! Thank you! (my curler has 3 heat settings--I use medium)
