The Royal Green Jackets (RGJ) was an infantry regiment of the British Army, one of two "large regiments" within the Light Division (the other being The Light Infantry).
Have you been affected by P.T.S.D?

@@VinnieCamilleriMusic we gave our all we were young and proud not so young now tho but still proud unless you've served you wont understand what brothers in arms means irrespective of when you served your welcome brother I've tried to explain the horrors of northern Ireland to my sons but they're more interested in the Vietnam war cos it's more exciting on the telly and northern Ireland wasnt seen as a war by the political parties even tho it's been the longest continuous conflict In the British army history and previous wars like malaysia Borneo Aden dont even get a look in cet et audaux

@@VinnieCamilleriMusic I totally agree I learnt 4yrs ago my section corporal who was a fantastic soldier and person took his life what a bloody waste I still think so little is known about ptsd I hate the name it should be called combat mental injury I dnt care what people say this illness is specific to service personnel it's only war or combat duties that we who served can get we see human nature at its worst and the atrocities dont usually occur in civilian life

@@swifty8538 You got in one, I like the idea of not calling PTSD, sounds like an illness rather than the effect of combat experienced trauma, unfortunately in days gone by men were too proud or unaware that they had things they needed to share of find resolution with, more men used to have a glass of man up with has lead to even more problems. I feel for the guys who had it even harder from WW1 & 2 with a lot less support than what is available today.

Yes, I remember Gerry well as I served with him during most of the period shown in the video. First in the Green Jackets Brigade and then as it became known as The Royal Green Jackets in 1966 a lovely man. Rest in peace! John W.
