      Spot on, brings back memories of Trial, Canter, 1st Fling and Final fling then the killer 26 miler at the end... (as it was in 1985) I always miss the blokes and the crack, it kept us going even when it got a bit naff.

    My son was a rifleman, was injured in training accident and had leave, he's fully recovered, that was 15 years ago, he's still in touch with all his mates, and even his CO keeps in touch, there is a sense of family in the British army, I see it in other militaries, but not as much, and I think that contributes to the effectiveness of our military. Another great video by the way.

    I was rgj back in the 70s it is a unique regiment born out of a time of muskets and red uniforms the training both physically and mentally was as tough as the paras and marines we built our ethos on fitness fighting and shooting barrack bullshit wasnt high on the agenda just look at the amount of vc that have been one by the rgj and li the rgj did more tours of ni than any other regiment the ox and bucks in ww2 did an impossible mission successfully yes the rifles regiment lost alot of good soldiers in Afghanistan but they also did more tours in the hardest of areas ie Kandahar and Helmand areas so dnt fkn disrespect these young men by stupid fkn name calling every regiment in the British army to me is fantastic I have all the respect for the guys as for the royal marines they are navy and yes they are a fantastic bunch of soldiers trained for specific roles so to alk you who have served are serving or about to serve bless you all and thank you

    • @everythingiskaos14
      @everythingiskaos14 3 года назад +1

      @Raj Maj you aren't wrong.
      I was originally going to go Royal marine commandos.
      And when I say if I don't get in para I'd go rifles. It won't be out of not wanting to continue. I'd be if I wasn't fit enough and they say para is not for you yet. And I am training alot. But atm I'm on a rest week due to body problems 😅 shortness of breath and light headed. This is happening due to not eating and not sleeping so I'm focusing on fixing that. (still do workouts just not as much)
      But when it comes to paras. I'm putting in 110% effort. Mentally and physically. It's what I want and it's what I'll get 😂😅.

      Funny you say that I was on herrick 11 when the RM took over 3 Rifles and there was alot of you're blokes didn't want to listen to our blokes about IEDs and stuff like that.
      Funny as once we left you losted loads of men though injury, Wonder if you had listened like professional soilder then some of you're men could be alive or not injured!!!!!
