I've had really BAD migraines in the past and it's very difficult to even hear noise or see bright lights. I'm so sure she just was feeling horrible when she raised her voice. She probably needed to take Motrin or Tylenol and lie down somewhere with dimmed lights....if possible.
I wouldn't think too harshly of her, given how bad she must be feeling.😶

My son used to get migraines, not much now, because he's older.
But when he got them, they were pretty bad to the point of throwing up.
And yes, the noise would bother him, and the bright lights he would usually go to his bedroom and take a nap.

I appreciate her honesty. She’s being who she is and will settle in. Yeah, she fortunate to have such generous good parents but I put myself in her shoes. She’s tired, has a migraine and probably overwhelmed by her first move. I’m sure in time she’ll realise how blessed she is. But in the meantime it’s a big adjustment. She’s trying to assert herself in life and cut the apron strings. I’m sure she’s astute enough to see in time, how loved and lucky she is to have such good family support. And yes they can afford it. They love hee and it shows.

Stress makes migraines worse which is why disorganization made it worse, on top of life changes. Also, some people need to be alone when they’re in a lot of pain. Some have extreme emotions caused by personality disorders or medical conditions. They can be controlled through medication or removing themselves from situations like this to relax in solitude. I've moved recently and when I got here, the stress of everything gave me terrible headaches/migraines. To the point where I went to the doctor and they recommended going to A&E for a scan just to be safe it wasn't anything worse. I was almost crying from the pain it was so awful. My parents had to come back up and help me finish unpacking because the headaches were so debilitating, and I couldn't really unpack or clean properly, if I had any energy it was drained from me.
That was 3 weeks ago and parents have gone back to their house. I'm better now but still experience stress headaches. Got one now in fact. It's lowered, but still lingering. So, yeah... If she thinks moving into that really nice and large, fully furnished apartment was stressful, she's not going to like moving out into something she can afford and with roommates. She didn't even have to do much of the moving process herself. I get feeling horrible during a move, I'm disabled with chronic pain and went through one where I was much more involved in the process than she was, but did she seriously just scream and storm off?
I did laugh at the "it's dusty" comment when unpacking though. Well yeah, you put it in there dusty, it's not going to Swiffer itself in the box while riding in the car 😅
And the shower head is such an easy fix, just get one of those shower hose attachments. Getting in the tub might require her little chair but unless you have a walk-in shower, tubs will always be an issue.

Shauna’s family doesn’t seem to know when is the appropriate time to push her out of her comfort zone. For some example, her parents shouldn’t have chosen the apartment for her because she’s the one with the limitations and she knows best what type of space works and doesn’t work. When she said she had a migraine, her family should have told her it was best to stop what she was doing and go lie down until she feels better. That wasn’t the time to push her to keep going.

Well hate to break it to you but as an adult who's been dealing with migraines since I was 7, the real world doesn't care or stop when you have one. Work doesn't care. Bills don't care. And it's up to you (Shauna in this case) to be an adult and delegate like an adult when you're not feeling well. When you're moving into an apartment Idk I guess move in another day or go take 4 Motrin (2 children's ones for her) and take some caffeine or go throw up so you can get things done. Go sit down, go lay down, don't screech at people like a rabid Chihuahua like shw did. That's not normal behavior. Even if you "have a migraine" if you've been dealing with them all your life you should know how to handle them even when you "can't" because you should have a plan around that. Because when you're truly on your own you aren't going to have people taking your ass grocery shopping for you or caring when you scream or cry. You get the cops called if you scream like that in public to a random person.

This show might as well be called: "The complaints of Shauna Rae".

  • @mariakqueen6574
    @mariakqueen6574 Год назад +17

Sure..she complains. But Shauna is dealing with a migraine. Often migraine's can cause irratibility, frustration, nausea. So all of these symptoms she's dealing with along with being frustrated about her height combines into what you all are thinking is 'ungratefulness.' The truth is, she's just extremely irritable in this moment and any little thing will set her off. Migraine's are extremely uncomfortable and frustrating to deal with. So before you call someone ungrateful or that she complains too much. Think about the situation. Everyone reacts to migraine's differently. Pain leads to exhaustion. Nausea also leads to irritability and exhaustion. So this entire situation was not helping. Her parents were asking too much of someone who was exhausted and in pain, especially since they were making loud noises. Little things like the boxes being disorganized could be less frustrating if she didn't have a migraine. But with her dealing with pain, nausea, exhaustion, stress..it all adds up. So yes, it makes you frustrated and can often lead to a mental breakdown. Her Parents were pressuring her to complete things right then and now, when honestly, it would have been better for her to go upstairs and take a nap in the dark. The 'screaming' is simply the pressure that builds in her head and she is just so overwhelmed and frustrated that it's the only thing she can think of to do. It doesn't help, but at that moment it's all you can think of. Once she took a moment to let her migraine subside, you can immediately see she's so much better and less frustrated.
DO NOT blame someone when they are in excruciating pain!

This! It happened to me recently... kind of still is but it's better by comparison. But I moved 3 weeks ago and I started getting terrible migraine-level headaches that were just awful. To the point where I cried sometimes. And I would be exhausted from these and just have no energy to unpack or think about getting furniture and other necessities for my new home. This lead to more stress cos it wasn't getting done, thus more headaches and yeah, it got so bad my parents had to come up to help me get closer to finishing.
So yeah, I have a good idea how it feels. I didn't have nausea, just overwhelmed and low energy.

I hope she learns to be more humble but I also hope that these things her parents do will make her appreciate her parents more one day.

I understand why she is feeling stressed. From what I’ve seen so far, this is one of the biggest milestones that she’s hit. Obviously, it’s only temporary but it’s still a big thing to experience. I’ve seen comments saying well why is she stressed she is pretty lucky compared to most people which is true. However, her parents understandably and again from what clips I’ve seen, have been extremely protective over what she does and where she goes etc. from my experience I’ve been in hospital most of my life and my parents have been overprotective of me and still are but, because of that there are times when normal adult situations have made me feel kinda anxious and stressed because my parents did most things for me. Now, I’m more independent and can go off and do whatever so maybe that’s why Shauna is acting kinda ungrateful and all over the place because to me she looked kinda nervous and stressed. I do agree that she does need to try and grow up a bit more because throwing a fit over unpacking is really stupid.

Listen, I like Shauna. I think she's actually got a super cool personality and would probably actually be fun to have as a friend. BUT, for someone who wants so badly to stop being treated like a child, she sure does seem to act like a child quite often. I mean, the little cocky attitude she gets for literally no reason, the screaming, the pouting..... If you want to be treated like the adult you claim to be, then you should REALLY start acting like one. And stop making excuses for your behavior every time too. That's another childish quality. Girl, you should feel lucky that you can function like you do when you have a "migraine", because I suffer from frequent migraines and I can tell you right now that I sure as hell ain't conversating with several people, sitting in a brightly lit room and screaming. I'm bed ridden, unable to move, in the pitch black, in pure silence, with nothing but the fan on. Because if I even try to roll over while I have a migraine, I'm throwing up. If I try to have ANY light while I have a migraine, I'm throwing up. If I hear so much as a whisper, I'm throwing up. If I EVEN try to whisper, I'm throwing up. THATS a migraine!!! I'm not saying that you don't have health issues or complications. I'm just saying that you're using them for excuses to be a little brat, and that's extremely childish.

I get bad migraines too - I just take an advil and lay down for like 20 mins and I'm good. She probably could have taken some medicine rather than pushing through it.

I have severe IBS under the right stressful conditions. My first apartment was not this nice at all. & I ended up being extremely sick with my stomach for the first few days at my first apartment. Stress can really cause you to be physically ill and in excruciating pain. Sometimes to a tipping point where you might lash out. Its the overwhelming pressure. High & longterm stress can make people overwhelmed, desperate for relief, and frustrated. The main thing she was worried about was the high crime rate. Which is obviously the first thing ppl think of when hearing the city New york. On top of it being a disgusting dirty & expensive place to live. She got something kinda nice. But they already said this is a trial run and they dnt plan on living in a place like this in the future. Good thing she didnt have to move or buy furniture.

I wish I had parents who had the financial standing to help me towards my goals. She should be grateful for them .
