John Petrucci Mark Five IIC+ Mode “Enemy Inside” Playthrough (partial)

Following the recording of the Mark Five vs. Mark IIC+ comparison video ( • John Petrucci Mark Fiv... ), we captured video of John doing a partial play through of the new Dream Theater song “The Enemy Inside” from their 2013 self-titled album. John is playing the Mark Five Head on Channel 3 in the Mark IIC+ Mode through the Rectifier 2x12 cab. The sound was recorded through an SM57 on one speaker and a KSM 313 Ribbon mic.

I have both a Mark IV and V but just curious is whether that on the V would that be mid gain or harmonics setting?

There is a really interesting "growl" in the Mark series that I can't seem to get with my recotoverb 50. The mark 5 sounds like another killer amp.

+Janne Oksanen Hi! I'm pretty sure that is the "Radial Headbone Valve-tube Head switcher". It is a pedal to change between the Mark V in the middle and the Mark llC+ on the right in order for them to sound on the same 2x12 cabinet.
