  • This easy ribeye steak in the Instant Pot is the bomb! If you have not steak in the Instant Pot, you are really missing out. Pressure cooking steak always assures steak comes out super moist and tender every time.
    Shopping List:
    1 boneless ribeye steak, at least 1 1/2- 2 inches, which is about 1 pound
    4 tbs. butter, divided
    Generous sprinkling of kosher salt and course black pepper.
    2 garlic cloves roughly smashed.
    1/4 tsp. dried thyme each side of steak
    2 tbsp. olive oil
    3/4 cup water or beef broth
    Directions:
    For extra flavor and better sear, dry brine the steak from 12-24 hours uncovered in the fridge. Generously salt the steak on all sides and place on a wire rack over a sheet pan then place in the fridge.
    Bring steak to room temperature (depending on the thickness of your steak, this could take up to an hour)
    Before cooking, lightly brush each side of the steak with olive oil and dust with more Kosher salt and course black pepper to both sides.
    Press saute button on the instant pot and select high heat. When the display reads "hot", add the oil. TIP: DO NOT PLACE LID ON POT WHILE SAUTEEING OR SEASRING!
    Place the steak into the pot and sear 2-3 minutes each side, including the edges. Halfway through, add the butter, garlic and thyme. Baste the steak in this sauce. Remove to a plate.
    Cancel saute by pressing the cancel button.
    Add the water or broth and use a wooden spoon to deglaze the bottom of the pot to break up any stuck on bits. This is important to prevent any burning of those brown bits left from searing the steak.
    Place the trivet into the pot. Place steak on the trivet.
    Replace the lid and move the pressure valve/switch to the seal position.
    Press pressure cook or manual, depending on your model, and adjust cook time to 4 minutes on high pressure for medium rare. Well done for this side steak would be roughly 10-12 minutes.
    When the cook time is up, do a quick release by moving the valve/switch to the vent position. Wait for the pin to drop before removing the lid.
    Remove steak and let rest 5 minutes before slicing and serving, placing a pat of butter on top.
    I cooked to 135F for medium rare.

      Thanks for watching. There are several reason actually. One is perhaps someone's stove is broken or a kid in college that doesn't have access to a kitchen. Plus it is easier with less cleanup and then my favorite reason is that steaks come out super super tender in the pressure cooker. Thanks again.

    where did you get that garlic bread? and do you know how long i would cook it if i want well done? great video!

      I got the bread at Walmart. It's Great Value Garlic Texas Toast. It's in the frozen section. As far as the steak, it depends on how thick your steak is and whether it's boneless or bone-in. If boneless, I'd say 10-12 minutes on high pressure for well done. If bone-in, it may a bit longer. Thanks so much for watching.

    Do you prefer the instant pot over grilling a ribeye?

    • @RICHARDINTHEKITCHEN
      @RICHARDINTHEKITCHEN  7 месяцев назад +1

      Well, I live in an apartment and not allowed to have a grill. But since I got the Instant Pot I get good results. It's so much quicker and easier to cook so many things in it. I can cook a brisket flat or point in the IP is just 1:15 and it is so tender. I fact, any meats you cook in it come out so tender and juicy. I do most of my cooking in it now. Check out my Instant Pot playlist to see just how many foods you can cook in it. Thanks for watching.

      Good morning. Thanks for watching. The full written recipe and directions is in the video description box below the video. Click the "more" button under the title and it will drop down. But if you can get to it, it's 2 tbsps. oil and 3/4 cup beef broth.

    Guy with a dirty bandaid on his hand touching your steak is exactly what you want….

    • @RICHARDINTHEKITCHEN
      @RICHARDINTHEKITCHEN  11 месяцев назад +3

      It’s not a Bandaid!!!!! It’s a wrap because of a trigger finger that keeps it from from locking up. That’s the color of the wrap.
