Ok so the final episode of She Hulk is now here and the new entry is packed with easter eggs, hidden details and a lot of things you missed. Throughout this video we're gonna be breaking down the entire thing and also giving our review of the series. Full spoilers ahead and with this being a finale I don't even wanna tease at what could be coming in the intro. Now last time we saw Jen attending the gala that was gonna give her a lawyer of the year award. Turns out this was basically just a participation trophy and several other lawyers got the same one. Also female Lawyer makes it sound weird when male lawyers are just called lawyer...
Quick he's gone woke, sedate him sedate him.

Anyway during the ceremony the anonymous esque intelligencia posted a video of Jen and Josh's night together. As Bruce warned, once they see you as a monster it's difficult for them to see you in another way and Jen lost her cool smashing up the screen. Damage control arrived to control the damage and we could see them carrying the sonic cannons that were used on Hulk in the Incredible Hulk.
This showed how much of a threat they viewed her as and that takes us into the episode.
Now the entry is called Who's show is this and this is a play on Jen saying earlier in the season 'just remember who's show this is.' The episode kinda devolves into several characters randomly popping up and us eventually learning that this is actually Kevins show. There's a massive fourth wall breaking moment in the entry in which Jen literally goes behind the scenes of Marvel studios and this pulls massively from the comics to create one of the most fourth wall breaking moments of all time.

I loved the part when Kevin told She-Hulk to transform back into Jennifer because the special effects cost a lot and the special effects team was already working on another project so they didn’t have time to work on She-Hulk. Once he said that Wakanda music played for a second and I was laughing my butt off. 😂

Yep, couple years ago I would say that this scenario is just imposible, and here we are! It is a fresh thing that they are trying to find way to chill with the heroes, find new ways to make them interact, beyond the funny post credit scenes. Wholesome!

When she broke the 4th wall and went to the Disney plus screen.. I glitched because I had the remote in my hand which made me think I had done that... Resulting in about a solid 2 minutes of hitting play and the back button repeatedly... That made me laugh lol

This episode wasn't only a forth wall break, it's a fourth wall shatter. Plus I love how they structured this episode. One of the best in the series, imo
"I know we're in a drought! I still got water pressure for days!" 🤣 that hit home for this California boy! I loved how different, than every other MCU project, this was! No big twists or huge cgi fights. No conspiracies or hidden villians!

I felt that the actress did a good job but the writers did not really do this series justice. It mostly just was used to bring into new plots and movies of other MCU characters. They should have just made a Professor Hulk series with Jen as a character.

You do a tell on how Deadpool entered the writers room but there was a comic issue of She Hulk where she busts out of the panel to keep Bryne from writing her out. She Hulk comics have been doing this for a long time which Deadpool got its inspiration from. She Hulk was always a comic at least in the 80s and early 90s to point out that comics in general were made for a certain view and she was there to break it.
Thank you, Nick. The fact that HS was twisting themselves into knots trying to give all the credit to freakin' Deadpool was starting to be a pain.
Does it matter tho? It's not a review about the origins of 4th wall breaking in the comics, it's not a matter of who does it better, the real problem is the execution in live actions pop culture, and in this case regardless of the originality shown by comic counterpart, Jessica Gao and her team dropped the ball and fell short.

A while ago Feige said he doesn’t like being on camera so I had a feeling that his form would be something like this.
Loved the 80s Hulk call back as a kid who watched it back then. It was definitely refreshing that Bruce had been right in episode 1, that their writers are terrible (on purpose or accident?) & made fun of the MCU’s formula. All & all, as much as I love Tati as Jen & simp for CGI She-Hulk, I’m really disappointed She-Hulk didn’t get better writing, fuller episodes & more budget as these three things really held back the series.
I think you nailed it. She Hulk could've really redeemed the bad hulk rep, but this ending felt rushed.
Fun little fact if you are using the subtitles. When the writers are talking about Kevin it’s spelled K.E.V.I.N
I know the bait and switch about the "villains" was the whole meta-joke of the series, but to be honest I kind of wanted to see She-Hulk Vs "The Big Bad" Who I assumed was going to be Titania. I really thought the minor tussles She and She-Hulk had was a lead-up to an epic fight in the finale.
Nah we don't want every series to have an epic fight in a finale just for the sake of it. Gets boring sometimes

@@bensenzo If it came out of nowhere with no set up to make a joke then it would make sense but this was set up all season since episode 1 and just before it got interesting the writers decided to give us the middle finger and ruined the ending making a good amount of set up pointless. They had an interesting scene then purposefully messed it up for the sake of a joke.

It was the worst 30 minutes the MCU had ever produced. Absolute shit.
Although i was down for some fight scenes, I didn't mind them changing up things for the finale at all. The only plot line that I wasn't sure should have been removed was Jen dealing with the fact that people think she's a monster (the effects was only briefly shown in the episode) but I guess people are so used to non humans around earth now, they get over it fast enough and get distracted by yet another threat to earth villain lol. Creative, maybe a little anticlimactic, but I didn't mind at all. Choosing to have Jen face off Todd in court instead of in a fight was the better choice imo. She-Hulk is trolling on people's expectations and people who complain a lot about the M She U, I like that.

She Hulk isnt only trolling those expectations, they're trolling all of them and even themselves by having accepted to do a show about something they dont care for.
They say they wanna be a law show, they dont do law(and if they do its short, shitty and wrong), all men are caricatures and/or immoral and when an actual character(Daredevil) shows up, they only throw him in there as a love interest and to make fun of him.
They tease her having to deal with her anger several times, only to slap the "it wasnt even that bad and it was reasonable anyways" onto it right after.
with the biggest insults coming in the last episode, where she says "Hulks smash stuff, that's what we do", while complaining about having a battle against a Hulk-like enemy, while also mentioning the costly CGI in their show, THE SHOW THAT CONSTANTLY COMPLAINS ABOUT HAVING TO INCLUDE SHEHULK, so we just have to sit there while they tell us that the unfunny meaningless stuff was the stuff they wanted to show us, while the sometimes interesting she-hulk or classic comicbook plotthreads are what was "forced onto them", leaving us with a show that doesnt want to exist and tells you so after wasting your time for 9 episodes.
Expecting ANY form of payoff other than "theres more Hulks now" was seemingly wrong.
The whole show doesn't only feel like they didn't wanna do something comic book based, they even told you so several times throughout the show, always a good sign when the writers not only hate their source material, but also the genre its from and what comes with it.
Exactly, trolling those expectations the show would be good.
Not every battle needs to be won with a fight.
This is why my favorite Marvel tv show face off was Vision vs Vision.
That interaction was more captivating than Wanda vs Agatha.
This show was all over the place some stuff I really enjoyed. I like the throwback lawyer comedy setup. A traditional sitcom like this needs more than 9 episodes to find its footing. I like the cast, but the finale felt like the end to a mid-season arc not the end of a season or series.
Agreed, I wish the show was more "case of week" type stories like episode 8

I think that the show could have been much better, and this season finale shows how good it could have been. It was creative and had the best jokes. Maybe the show wouldn't have the bad reputation it got if this finale was actually episode 4. That way we get an over arching storyline with fun, creative situations and it has the time to develop it all. To me this season finale felt like it crammed too much and could have been spaced out in multiple episodes.

I think the point was that Jennifer stated that it wasn't a normal Marvel show in the beginning so killing the overall storyline at the end because it was forced and stereotypical Super Soldier plot, really fit.

May have flowed better with Intellegencia as a red herring and just still a bunch of normal unpowered guys, and have had Titania as the one who hired the guy to steal Jen's blood, and try to replicate it in beauty products that backfired and ended with a final court further ruining her reputation. Though I guess even that may be a bit lackluster. Hopefully they do more seasons later down the line, I'd like to see more She Hulk and have them try to improve the writing, as well as more court cases with lesser known heroes/villains. Unfortunately, Disney/Marvel seems to see their shows as a marketing hype for their movies rather than have them stand-alone with their own separate storylines like they did with Agents of Shield.
This finale was a bit too short and a lot of plot elements were not tied up.

@@jeffreycarman2185 Yeah. I understand their meaning to avoid expectations of a 'big bad villain battle' by the ending like every other marvel show. But why waste time putting up the loose plot threads if not going to use them. That's just baiting the audience to hype them up and not deliver.

Fans just created their own show in there heads. This show delivered what it promised. A sitcom. I understand why people didn't like it, but you were not lied to or betrayed.
I agree. I think that starting with WandaVision and streaming, Marvel decided to add genres to their output. However, they never came out and said that this was their plan, which is what I think confused fans and angered them over the changes. A lot of the fans wanted the same straightforward thing over and over again. Ms Marvel, as another commenter said, came off as a Disney teen show, which, I believe, was the intention. It wasn’t a show intended to appeal to 40 year old guys. It was meant for teenage girls. She-Hulk was intended for a different audience, as well. It’s a sitcom. It’s not meant to be on the same level as Infinity War, yet some “critics” are still trying to compare the two.
Personally, I found this show to be a fun change of pace. It knew what it was up against and it leaned into it from time to time. It never, ever took itself seriously, which is such a breath of fresh air in this post-Christopher Nolan “grounded and gritty” era.

I LOVED this episode. The 70's Hulk TV show intro, She-Hulk breaking through the Disney+ menu and her going into Marvel Studios to talk to robot Kevin Fiege, X-Men name drop, possible confirmation of a new Hulk movie from Kevin, more Daredevil, and Skaar. Say what you want about the show, but this episode was AMAZING.
PS. They did Skaar so dirty, look at that trim. Stan Lee what were you thinking? 🤧

Majority of your high points in the episode is basically advertising, if that's what you think makes for an "AMAZING" finale episode then fair play to you.. I'd rather have plot points come to a proper conclusion personally 🤷♂

I honestly enjoyed the show. I don't necessarily think it was good, but it was fun, and I ended up coming back every week, so I can't complain too much lol
I thought it was pretty decent and a fun watch even with all of its problems.
That episode 9 intro was hilarious and brought back memories.
I actually appreciate the messiness. As a writer myself, the biggest challenge for any story is ensuring that the mechanics make sense. However, since She-Hulk has this superpower that allows her to break the Fourth Wall, it only makes sense that this series' creators felt the need to gaslight the Comic Book Movie Community. With these Marvel Studios shows specifically, Kevin Feige has often thrown curveballs at fans, especially with storylines involving women as the star of the show. Everyone was excited about seeing Evan Peters as Quicksilver in WandaVision, only for Feige to snatch all our hopes and dreams away with Ralph Bohner. In this case, criticism over the visual effects (something that I am also guilty of doing) may have led the team to poke fun at the viewers more so than at themselves. I often feel like Feige reminds us of this simple fact: "It's not our show" - "our" meaning the fans. Feige lets the fans have what they want but only as an illusion, and fans keep falling for it. Essentially, this whole series' purpose was to put the fandom in its place by intentionally placing plot devices that would make viewers criticize the show. So, the show in itself is a Fourth Wall break.
I literally just came from another video where these people were hating on this finale, it was more like depressing projection the more I was listening, like only this show could pull this off on the magnitude and it gives me more hope going forward with these movies, some people are just actually depressed fr bc idk how you can't like this from a creative point of view
@@SHANGO1028 the show was very bad and the ending was obviously a reshoot cause the hirer ups saw how bad the finale was so they gave some actual professional oversight. They are obviously capable of making decent stuff which is the sad part but this is the perfect example of how they’re spread too thin.

Loved this series! It was a fresh take on superheroes in real life situations! Tatiana Maslany nailed the role! Hope to see more of her and She Hulk!

This show took being "self aware" to a whole new level. Multiple levels. My favorite was them predicting the hate this show was going to receive and making those people the butt of the joke. Genius! Definitely one of the best shows so far.
Edit: also I loved the writer’s room scene. The writers represented the fans in my opinion

@@fingfangfoom2399 idk I mean I think the comics represent the One Above all as any1 who wrote or designed the comic book. It was Stan Lee and Jack Kirby at times in the comics but it doesn’t have to always be limited to them. There’s times where they’ve said the One Above All created the Omni-Verse and the Omni-Verse is supposed to represent every piece of fiction that we have created in our real world so I don’t think Lee and Kirby would take credit for every other artist’s work. I just think the intention was that the One Above All represents any artist that had created something that now belongs in the Omni-Verse. Therefore, Kevin Feige or K.E.V.I.N. can totally be considered the One Above All just as much as Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.

Fantastic, this is all we needed in the MCU, a woman to go into the real world and erase everything because she doesn't like it.

This was my favorite episode. I just don't know if I would be interested watching another season unless they actually go somewhere with the plot and characters. It's set up a lot of possible sub plots without any satisfaction though.

I think this was a great episode, a lot better than many of the other episodes, and better than a few other show's final episodes as well.
The 4th wall breaking and the real world meta things, all of the Kevin-bot talk, Skaar, and other things were great :)
this show has been up and down for me. It made me laugh, made me cringe, and made me like Wong and Daredevil.
The clip of her dancing in college looks a lot like it's an outtake of her in "Orphan Black."
They didn't just break the fourth wall in Episode 9, they She-Hulk Smashed it!
ha ha ha ha, the red (she) hulk diversion in the end of episode 8 is EPIC, smashed the fourth wall, definitely one of the best climax in phase 4. also, Planet Hulk
I agree with the whole WandaVision point. If this final episode was a part of a show where Kevin was the ultimate "villain"/antagonist and Jen was slowly realising that something is wrong in her life and is realising throughout the show as a season long B plot that she realises she's in a show, that final episode would have hit very different and would have been a hoot. Instead it just undermines the plot threads and villain throughout the season.
It really was a mess just like Jen was saying but saying that doesn't suddenly make the writing ok. It just highlights how bad the writing was throughout the season.
It really makes me wonder how good this show could have been with the same cast but different showrunner and writers. At a bare minimum, would have nice to have staff writers who actually know how to write a legal procedural.

After the episode I was kinda confused, not just with the Disney+ thing. The end credit scene makes me thinking, if Blonsky appears again. Also interesting that someone lied again about the term if or how much he was featured; I don't dislike it, but its strange.
My little nitcpick- So what happens to Jen's blood? If Josh's transformation was cancelled does that mean the whole blood stealing plot is boycotted now?

I dont know if Tod was the guy in either of the masks. The first guy with the bent needle had a lot of hair on his upper lip but Todd is clean shaven. The other guy Jen picked up at awards debacle had longer hair also wasn't Todd. Imo Great work as always! Definitely my favorite channel for breakdowns! And yes I'm definitely paid to say that!
I absolutely loved this show. Hope they make more projects like this and Werewolf By Night. Loved Tatiana as She Hulk and for the first time ever in the MCU, Nikki and Pug were actually side characters I wanted to keep seeing on screen.

I have mixed feelings about this ending. I do like that the series are able to take more risks than the movies (WandaVision and Loki are pretty subversive compared the the more formulaic films), and I like the idea behind the finale, even if it does kind of leave us itching for a proper conclusion. As a woman, I do feel they did an exceptional job portraying the feeling of being utterly enraged yet feeling helpless and unable to do anything, because of how you’ll be perceived. “You’re just hysterical, you’re being unreasonable, are you on your period or something?” So, props to them for that.
My boyfriend pointed out that the Todd thing is a bit of a shaggy dog story, where it seemingly led the plot forward but went ultimately nowhere. I think this would support the idea that She-Hulk as a series is more about setting up the next Phase of the MCU, with Blonsky, Daredevil, Skaar, and Jen now on the playing field for whatever comes next. That’s kind of the only point I can see to it beyond its themes of addressing how women are treated in society. So yeah, mixed feelings. The series hit some massive low points at times, but that Daredevil episode was killer, right? I do love the interactions between he and Jen.
Also, anyone who loved Tatiana Maslany in this: Go watch Orphan Black, it’s amazing and showcases Maslany’s incredible range.
