One thing in the R13's favor: not 13th or 14th generation, since 700-level processors also had issues - you're not buying a possibly compromised processor.
$1495 is fair. I have a i9 from the 10th gen and just need a gpu upgrad really. 10th and 11th gen high i7+ all rips! Pair them with good cooling and 4400+ ram at least 32 gigs and your flying in anything.
I respect all the time and effort you've put into your channel, and you 100% deserve the awesome opportunities that have come your way lately. As a fellow tech nerd, I'd be jumping for joy to see my inbox full of companies wanting to send me their latest and greatest. I started watching your channel 5-6 years ago because you were doing all the weird Chinese dual socket used Xeon stuff. I built my first budget GPU/Linux server after watching your videos on the Grid and Tesla cards. I have nothing but respect for what you've been able to build for yourself, and I would love to see more of that style of content. I personally can't ever see myself forking out 10k+ for a new Intel server, but it's cool to see nonetheless.
The biggest downside to that alienware is the motherboard, PSU, limiting bios and heavy bloatware. if it was around 1100 - 1250 then I'd have went for it, the reason for my price would be the ewaste motherboard, bad bios and proprietary parts. BUT if you're looking for a rig that's plug n play and will do the job and you don't care about the performance loss.... it's fine, an alright combo
yeah it's hysterical, a 3080 ti is on the level of a 4070 super lmfao I imagine a year from now there will be "is the 4080 still a good card in almost 2026 ?" type videos
one of my friends got something like this during the infamous GPU shortage because it was basically the same price as getting a GPU on its own. beyond that, good enough for what it is I suppose
I've toyed with, worked on, built, repaired many many pcs over the last decades, won the current rig in a raffle. It's not really as interesting as it used to be honestly, they took all real technician levels stuff out of building pcs after about 2000. it's been simple as legos for a long long time now.

15:06 I doubt this will work well. DDR5 does not like to have more than 1 stick per channel and I think the memory controller on the CPU is borked. The base memory clock for a 12700KF is 4800 MT/s, but the product page for the system notes, it is running at 4400 MT/s.
I have an oem Dell 3800 in my PC. Runs 4k@60fps just fine for me! However, nvidia's newest driver almost killed it! My PC wouldn't post, with a code 97 on the motherboard. Only way I saved it was by installing a 980ti Classified in it. The 3080 booted just fine in an Windows 7 PC. Go figure... But the 3080 back in the next day, and it booted just fine...😊
Whild how many people are complaining about your comments on a 4 year old GPU. The comment isn't for people still using old hardware, it's directed at the people who upgrade every generation. Those poor Intel users.
Yeah this is something i would never ever buy or support. High temps, rubbish choked case and proprietary parts. Just no. Cant OC without upgrading cooling which is probably impossible with this case. This has strong advertisement feel.
I have a 1080TI with an AMD 8350-FX. There isnt a game in 2024 I cant play. Its not perfect with ray tracing but I can play any of them with good FPS. This video using a 4 year old video card saying its still awesome is silly. Of course it is. Hardware has FAAAAAR pasted the world of software outside of specialized applications.
Yes, I know it's still awesome. Yes, it seems obvious. But there are some people out there who seriously question if they need to upgrade EVERY year for fear of being left behind.
Looks like a giant USB-C case
Ah yes! The Ryzen 38080
38080 Ti
That Hyundai Veloster joke is the best description of this Dell I’ve ever heard. Well done.

I love the 38080!

My 10900k and 3060ti are still very fine Ty.
38080?
YOU SAW NOTHING!
@@CraftComputingsorry it's the only reason I clicked on an Alienware review.
A veloster easily has as much street cred as a 350z convertible
Nah, atleast thats got a cd09 and is rwd
@@bgdwiepp cd009 and only if a manual. What have you puta 009 in?
At the end I thought that Factor would have entered the dinner scene 😅

> 3080 still awesome in 2024
Buddy you make it sound like this thing came out ten years ago...
A 1080 is still good today lol

A fellow RCR enjoyer I see
My wife has an AMD based Alienware Aurora - one of the last in fact before the model change. Great video!!
An Alienware desktop is the Veloster of desktops. 😂
This is the type of config I am currently running. Still does great!
12700k + 4090 here. Still good to me. I'll upgrade my CPU in january maybe.
Part 2 , I hope you get sponsored to upgrade this to 9800X3D and water cooling slim RTX4090
you take that back the veloster is SO cool
Hyundai swiped BMW's M mojo for the Veloster N, so I'd say it has more street-cred than a pre-built that may have escaped Dawid's Alma exorcism.
That intro was so right on
Love the videos!!
Cries with my 8700K....it's showing it's age.
Just as a suggestion, mentioning delta Temps for CPU/GPU would have been helpful or just state your ambient room temp if possible.
How much you think a PC build like this is worth right now?

Good video but I wouldn't spend $1400+ on old tech. With-in 60 days, the 3080ti will be 2 generations old. The cpu is already 3 generations old.

3080 Ti and 3070TI were one of the best cards at Nvidia. After that it went downhill fast.

I see the time warp is fixed now 😂🎉
Of course they're still awesome, the 3080 ti is just the previous gen high end GPU, and 13-15th gen barely have any performance improvement
I'm still happy with my 5600x and 3070
Those Baldurs Gate 3 seem too high to me... Does it have frame generation now or something?
Hey! this isnt the Dawid Channel.
And it can run the Kessel run in how far?
16GB of ram in a pretty high end for the time? That hurts
Yes I do in fact place zero value on my own time. I am worthless.
JK but some of us actually enjoy building PCs
Hi its should be nice to campare performance vs a prxomox gpu passthrow one😊 ill wait for🎉
RIP Elysian.
funny veloster joke,
until you run into a 2.0L turbo veloster N that will totally smoke your altima.
Not the 3.5L Altima :-D
@@CraftComputing bruh u insane? lolol xD
veloster N is 274hp, on a smaller &* lighter package than the 3.5L altima.
Have to take at least 250 off for Alienware :)
Yikes, wouldn't touch a PC that you can't change the motherboard on

Real ones will about the 38080

Even a 1080ti is bottlenecked by that terrible processor. You've been gimping your GPU this whole time.
