Thanks so much! And that's actually one of the budget models from the other year surprisingly. The quality is way better than the budget ones from years past, but it still leaves a bit to be desired. If you go for one, you'll probably want to replace the pickups. I used the stock ones on this but they really lack output. For around $200 they're a SOLID starter, but a few hardware upgrades would take it much further.
Thank you! I think it was an Ibanez TS9 into a Peavy 5150 into a Mesa 4x12 if I remember correctly. Real standard but the crappy stock pickups on that Jackson sort of gave it that older flavor. I think there was probably a generous mid-cut with an EQ in post as well if that helps.
You can though! Honestly the hardest part is getting the right-hand tight. I grew up with a lot of surf music so I'd recommend starting out playing stuff like Dick Dale or The Ventures. Once you crack that, you'll start flying.
Yeah it came out pretty spot-on. It was just a Peavy 5150 really. And the guitar is the cheapest one Jackson makes. At the time they were under $200. The pickups aren't fantastic, but they get the job done. Plus since this was recorded, I had the option to use some EQ afterwards. The sound definitely left me wanting at live shows though.
These songs are so much fun. I feel like the picking patterns are really weird and they force you to switch between wrist-motion and thumb-motion. And neeeeeeever. Coffee's my whole thing. I don't do coke so coffee is the only way I can keep up with 80's Sepultura haha.
As an old metal head(I'm 40)
